Sports Classics

Recommended Posts

Sports classics are my favourite category of cars, so I obviously would like to see more of them in future updates - in particular, cars based on the E-Type Jag, the AC Cobra, a 60's or 70's Mustang (Dominator Classic?) and the Lamborghini Countach (Infernus Classic?), which would perhaps give the Z-Type a run for its money speed-wise. I'd also be in favour of the Bullet being bumped to the sports classics category, and I'd really love it if they got rid of the guns on the JB-700 - they render this potentially beautiful car silly looking, which is a real shame. Have them removed at LSC, even.

Any other sports classics fans? What additions would you like to see in this category?

I agree that the guns should disappear from the JB 700, though others would prefer they become functional instead.

The Bullet is in the Super class. You may be thinking of the Monroe, which has a vaguely similar shape. If that's what you meant, I'd say I disagree. The Monroe's main inspiration is the Lamborghini Miura, an older car than the Countache.

No, i meant that the Bullet should be in the sports classics class, rather than supers, since it's based more on the Ford GT40 than the modern GT.

But the bullet is a modern car.

Agreed..

I have always thoguht the Bullet (old Ford GT40) and the Comet (80's porsche 911) should be sports classics IMO

The GT40 and GT look so generally similar that when you have a game car that's intended to only vaguely resemble one, and actually takes cues from both as well as other cars, it's impossible and meaningless to say which of the two the Bullet "is". However, it's in-game performance indicates it's more of a modern car than a classic. I think it's fine where it is.

The Bullet is obviously supposed to be a modern GT as it has modern wheels by default, plus a modern interior and carbon fibre. However, you can make it look more like a classic GT40 by picking older design wheels. Shame it is in the super class though, some sports class cars have better performance.

The comet is definately in the correct class though, it is intended to be a modern 911, although it has some influences from older models. I always thought the back of the comet looked kind of odd, I'm not really sure what rockstar used as their inspiration for that.

I really want to remove the guns on the JB700, it's my main annoyance with any vehicle in game. It looks and handles great, but they had to ruin in with some stupid looking guns. Interestingly the guns weren't there when we first saw the JB700 in the first trailer. Hopefully someone can create a mod for PC with no guns.

As for new cars, a new Windsor (e-type jaguar), a 1940's sedan like a Chrysler New Yorker (Broadway), a classic 60's rolls Royce (Stafford) and a classic VW Beetle (bug). Any new classics are appreciated though.

A Paradox from 94

^Well another user from the PistonHeads website picked it up for one of the forums. I had that page in my bookmarks so I just used that one. But I wouldn't visit the watermark website, it looks fishy.

-edit- there is a clean photo now

agree with everything you say!

It makes sense for vice city cars to be added and hopefully it's a matter of time.

we need a lowrider class too and they should add them all in

I really hope they create more sport classics. The 240Z should work pretty well to ad in this game. I also think that adding a 1970's version of the Comet is a good idea. Personally i really want to see more french cars like the Alpine A110 or the A310.
