Elder Maxson
Do you think that Rockstar should be able to make these two bridges in the picture above functional? Back in III or LCS, there was a drawbridge that was functional and would raise occasionally, so do you think that the PC version would make this small feature a comeback? jeter2
I don't think it will, since it most likely has been long forgotten I could see a modification though enabling us to do such in the future Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/762973-should-these-drawbridges-be-functional-in-the-pc-version/#findComment-1066860605 Share on other sites

Jigglyass
Why? WHY? Have you guys completely ran out of things to discuss about the PC version that you are now discussing bridges within the PC version? This is the new bottom for pointless threads. Posting in pointless thread. oCrapaCreeper
Pretty sure all boats can fit under those bridges, there would be no point in them lifting. It would also be dumb if it occasionally lifted for no reason like the bridge in III, there wasn't even any boat traffic in III. But yeah, it makes no sense to lift a bridge that doesn't have any boat traffic going under it. ..GhosT
Would be amazing if they add such a small feature. The bridge was so fun to f*ck around with in III. Alvarez
That aren't drawbridges, that are vertical-lift bridges. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commodore_Schuyler_F._Heim_Bridge Would be a lovely sight - stupid AI drivers will drive into the river, like lemmings. And yes, it will be fun messing around with it. utack 1 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/762973-should-these-drawbridges-be-functional-in-the-pc-version/#findComment-1066864282 Share on other sites

sparky66
Kind of scraping the barrel for topics here aren't we? As someone said earlier, technically they are lift bridges, not drawbridges. It would be kind of pointless for them to lift as the huge container ships are static. It would also require ai tweaks to both the traffic and trains as one of those bridges is for the railroad. A few races also cross these, it would be kind of annoying for all the racers to have to stop and wait. Remember the Shoreside Vale lift bridge in III? You could end up failing missions because the damn thing decided to raise. If you need a 'realistic' explanation of why they don't open: It's also questionable whether these bridges are still in use. Many of these bridges no longer lift IRL, or if they do it is very rarely for special occasions. Usually due to their age and operating/maintenance costs, plus reduced shipping traffic. It's possible for all the active docks in The Port of LS to be accessed by ships without passing under these bridges and the newer container yard was obviously built far later than these bridges and would have taken most of the larger ships away from the older docks, so it is likely they are now out of use. Plus the railroad one looks in need of repair. Slightly off topic: In Watch Dogs I hated how some of the large ships and lift/draw bridges were in locations which made no sense. They had huge ships in locations wher they couldn't possibly get out into open water, due to narrow canals with tight bends or low fixed bridges blocking the river. At least the layout of the docks in av makes sense. Evil.Tim
I highly doubt anything that was already in the previous versions of GTAV will be functionally different in the PC version.
