What is your favourite / least favourite GTA?

san andreas is not my favorite GTA, but it is technically the best GTA.

Great minds think alike! TLAD and IV are my favorites, but San Andreas is without a doubt, objectively the best GTA in the series.

If IV had a Countryside, basic vehicle customization (colors, switching between already available vehicle extras), and a lot more cheats, it would have been better than San Andreas.

Voted LCS for least favorite. While I enjoy it, it didn't really bring anything new to the table barring vehicle salesman.

I'd go with Grand Theft Auto IV and Grand Theft Auto V because it's really, really open-world. And Grand Theft Auto IV had more friend activites to do than GTA V. And GTA IV it was really realistic.

I had to pick both IV and TBOGT for my favorite, really can't decide on which one. V would come after either of those two I suppose.

 

For my least favorite it has to be any of the top downs; 1/2/London/Advance.

I liked The Lost and Damned the most, followed closely by the original GTA IV. After that my third favorite would be Vice City. And not counting games like 1, 2 and Advance (even though I've played them), I'd say my least favorite GTA is GTA III

It's a great fight between IV, Vice City, San Andreas, and V, but, imo, V is the better out of all of them.

 

Los Santos in Grand Theft Auto V is ginormous, so, there definitely is a lot to explore.

 

The characters, Franklin, Michael, and Trecor were fun to play around with and had their own personalities.

 

And, finally, the game was just......fun! I found it more enjoyable than the others. Espexially the cheats and the mods for the PC version.

I don't call my most played game my absolute favorite, I mean yeah it's true that I always come back to it due to a reason or two, like Online for example.

 

Since I criticize Online a whole lot, despite being my most played GTA so far, I cannot call it my favorite, I can call it my own standard game but never a favorite. I call games my favorite by how much fun I had during my first experience, my other playthroughs let me fix my trial and errors from the first play through, but they have less passion behind them.

 

My absolute favorite GTA is IV, yes it is given dull shades of grey and the vanilla vehicle handling was very controversial as well as difficult to get a hang of, but goddammit did it have such a good story and set of characters, I liked the more mature lore as well as the refreshing modern satire that made sex jokes more subtle than it was in San Andreas, may I also add how good the gunplay was for a 2008 game as well as having much better gunshot sounds than GTA V?

 

My runner-ups would be Vice City and San Andreas for nostalgia sake, they're both iconic for what GTA stood as for so long, but they honestly haven't aged that well unfortunately. The radio stations, however, are what stand out the most in these games for me after Vercetti and memories.

 

My least favorite... That has to be given to Liberty City Stories, because to be frank, Tony has got to be the least interesting protagonist, even less charming than Franklin the iron man himself. The story was forgettable as well as the cast of characters, same recycled city but no new fleshed out gameplay to refresh the city like VCS.

 

This is a bonus round for my most disappointed game, and that yet again has to be GTA V. Yes, I love GTA V to death and I can't blame it for the major flaws it has because Rockstar forced most of these flaws in it in favor for Online to get exclusivity to the solutions, but man what a disappointment the story was.

 

My favorite character of any GTA is Michael De Santa, but I hate the sh*t he gets thrown into with Trevor and the FIB, both of them have butchered huge parts of the story for no reason and the events as well as aftermaths come off as shallow because nothing worthwhile has happened, and sometimes you forget that Franklin even exists because of how underused he is!

 

If GTA V had a single protagonist focus on Michael instead, the game would've been much better in a storyline and character direction, but I guess that would make it lose a lot of it's weird quirks and charm, for some reason I cannot imagine myself playing V in an alternate universe without spawning as a dress-wearing Trevor ontop of a mountain.
