My top 5 GTA games together with my least favorite.

1. GTA IV - Such an amazing and marvelling masterpiece. It stood as one of my favorite games of all time. It's one hell of a game with a fantastic protagonist, fantastic soundtrack, fantastic and well written story, a great and immersive city, and despite a few flaws, it it one of the best games ever IMHO. A true immersive experience. One of the best experiences I have in every game out there.

2. GTA Vice City - What a game! Amazing atmosphere, amazing and well curated soundtrack, awesome protagonist, great storyline. Everything in this game is well done and is easily a step up from GTA III.

3. GTA San Andreas - A huge and sprawling game. Has lot's of fantastic content. A huge and heavily varied map with 3 different cities with unique character to them. A decent, but well done story. lot's of gang and criminal activities.

4. GTA V - Go ahead, hate me but GTA V is a great and well done game. It's a beautiful and vast game. Southern San Andreas is one of the most varied and beautiful game worlds out there. It has lot's of variety and content, but it quite disappointed me due to lack of criminal activities, but it's still a great game.

5. GTA III - The one that made a landmark in video game history, the one that blew millions of people's minds. GTA III is easily one of the most important games of all time and it is really one hell of a experience. GTA III is the one that presented us what GTA is known for. A true cinematic and immersive experience to do what we want at our leisure. A fantastic game indeed.

Least favorite would be GTA Advance. Everything about this game sucks ass. Nintendo just want a cash cow on their GBA handheld. Nintendo already have Pokemon for crying out loud. GTA Advance is the worst GTA game ever. Honestly it's the only GTA that I really hate, if we count Online as a seperate game from V, then it's tied up there with GTA Advance. Too restrictive and there is zero fun factor.

My favourite would have to be III with VC and SA being tied close second. My least favorite is V.

I would consider GTA V a decent game, but the storyline and stupid characters ruined it all. Same goes for TBOGT.

 

I would consider Chinatown Wars a great game, but the top-down view and the repetitive side-missions get annoying at times.

 

The Lost and Damned and Vice City have the most interesting themes, plus their stories don't change drastically.

All the characters fit into the main story, unlike newer installments.

 

But, newer games (San Andreas onwards) have advantages - improved graphics and gameplay, new features and side-missions.

 

I'd choose The Lost and Damned as my favorite, but the small number of missions is a major let-down.

Plus the main characters could have been... smarter. I'd develop the characters and main story differently.

 

I tend to choose Vice City as a favorite as well, mostly because of the story, but the gameplay has some flaws.

Why? The cars, the music, the visuals, and pretty much everything matches how it was in the 80's. Not to mention the awesome storyline and characters that make the game amazing. Oh, and the pop culture references as well.
