GTA V PC VS PS4 SCREENS COMPARISON

Recommended Posts

The PS4 Version looks much (much) better on my 50" Screen than these Screenshots make it seem...Those PS4 screens are terribly washed out.

Naturally the PC Screens look a lot better.

A slight observation, where did the Tree go on the First PC Screen with Franklin on it compared to PS4?

Your TV must do some post processing.

I can't see any extra trees in the PS4 screen

These comparisons always have issues. The main one is resolution, and what PC did those screens come from? It would be better to see screens from somebody's actual system. And both PS4 and PC should be viewed at a resolution that actually means something.

Actually I was not specific enough. Compare the shadows on the building on PC vs PS4 for the first set of screens...PS4 has a tree casting shadows and PC is getting shadows from some other source (bottom right part of building).

Edit: Not thinking, TOD as indicated below of course.

Wow, i don't know what to say about this comparison... First of all the PS4 pictures are Extremely washed out, 2nd, The traffic density is way higher then that, that looks like the image was cherry picked. the PS4 version is Very beautiful, these just make it look seriously unimpressive and ugly.

It's just different TOD.

No, these are not cherry picked and no they are not mocked up to look worse than it really is. I have one 70 hours in gta v on ps4 and 100% the game. These screenshots look identical to what I see from my system.

Why do they look worse than usual? Because they're next to the real deal pc graphics. By having them next to each other you can see how dated the ps4 graphics already look. 1080p is an ancient resolution. In the next 2 years 4k will be the standard for pc gamers and consoles will be stuck at 1080p60.

What I want to know is whats the story with the vegetation. It looks thinner in pc. Strange.

I question whether or not all these screenshots were edited and enhanced in some way before being released. Seems to be a norm with screenshot releases like this.

It's quite obvious that the PC screens are untouched.

How's it obvious?

BS_BlackScout

Do you still think these screens are maxed out?

God, I even imagine if they have PC's powerful enough to max it at 4K...

MAX, I mean, Very High and 8x of AA.

That requires some great SLi setup, something they don't really need.

I imagine them strugglin at 10FPS trying to take maxed 4K screens.

Looks more like some 4K showcase, not focusing on graphics.

Lack of AA,inconsistent texture quality and the fidelity is somewhat close to the PS4 version.

The first thing they would do and they have done with previous promotional/marketing screenshots especially with LG version of the game is that they would remove/hide the jaggies.

If they were "enhanced", they did a poor job.

Who needs 8x AA at 4k?

1080p is not ancient. its a bit old yes, but its the most used standard now. all movies are released in 1080p and tvs and monitors beyond that resolution are pricey.

Who needs 8x AA at 4k

who needs AA at that resolution at all? the only AA i would use is 2xMsaa.

Although it is significantly reduced, there is still visible aliasing in a lot of games at 4K. I’m currently playing through Alien Isolation at 4K with in-game AA maxed out and still see cringe worthy aliasing in some places

The best AA method is downsampling with MSAA being a close second.

You'd eliminate a lot of jaggies if you rendered the game at 4K and downsampled it to something like 1080p or 1440p.

OMG... and these f*cking pictures again...
It's useless to discuss about these f*cking fake screenshots (no news... already seen at least 15 times on this forum .....)!

No SteXmaN, the "PC" pictures are touched with photoshop.
Aliasing isn't touched because it's too much work (and useless ==> good excuse for this last delay...), and these modifications make the edges too blurry.
R* did not want it.

To make it seem that the quality will be higher on PC, R* preferred to keep the "sharp edges" with aliasing:
- "it's not our fault; You wanted some 4K screenshots on your 1080p screens band of PC peasants, then here they are".
And, at worst, PC gamers ass-kissers will say:
- "ok, I understand why they still need to polish the game..."
But they have retouched images by adding some irrealist and fake depth of field (we can see that on the roof for example... and yay, we also can see it very well on a 4k screen!).

The pictures you put in spoiler are the "promotional" screenshots for PS3 and 360.

Did you realize that you're comparing PICTURES (direct outputs) from a software development against real screenshots from video youtube!
Yes the PS4 images are blurred.

Even the indications (buttons) are blurred, however they are perfectly clear on 1080p videos or real screenshots. But here, it's blurry because come from a youtube video (720p or 480 ....).

If R* really thought bring superior quality graphics, then the promotional images would be the same (When "sleeping dogs HD" was to be released, we were able to compare the "old promotional images" with the "promotional HD images", same with Skyrim for example).

But of course, it's impossible to compare... R* think of everything.
Most console gamers are not able to make screenshots. Apparently, it's too difficult for them to use the key "share" (don't talk to me about Snapmatic.... It isn't real ingame screenshots, it's a screenshot with ENB).

So given that we only have promotional images (for PC), then let's comparing with the promotional images for PS4.

Here are some examples (7 pictures):

PS4:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PC:
3110.jpg - 610.jpg

PS4:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PC:
7810.jpg - 110.jpg

PS4:---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PC:

310.jpg - 410.jpg
1510.jpg

There isn't a lot of differences...

Oh wait, i hear: "No no, you're blind.... PS4 pictures are so blurry!!!"
No, the PS4 images are blurry (the two lastest pictures) but they are clearly "motion pictures" or "in movements" (= ingame screenshots = several frames by one image), while the images allegedly called "PC" are clearly "motionless" and taken from their software development (one single frame for one image).
But in reality, this allows to see the difference between promotional IMAGES, and real ingame screenshots (once the game purchased...).
