surviving a bounty

Here's what it says on: http://gta.wikia.com/wiki/Bounties

To lose a bounty, you have to stay alive outside of safehouses for 24 in-game hours (48 minutes in real-time). You can't lose the bounty by staying in your safehouse. Entering a safehouse or job or leaving the online session will pause the timer and it will resume when the player re-enters free mode. Ways to stay alive long enough to lose your bounty include:

Flying around in a plane or helicopter

Riding on a train. Just make sure to kill any other players that get on or near the train.

Using a Submersible to hide on the ocean floor.

Changing session from open free-roam to Invite Only, Solo, Crew Only or Friend Only will allow the player to safely wait out the bounty period.

Have a friend claim the bounty and pay it directly back to you using the share cash function .

If you stay alive for 24 hours after having the bounty set on you, it will go away and you'll get the amount of money that was placed on your death, a "You have survived the bounty placed on you" message, and, if it's your first time surviving a bounty, you'll get the "Run Like the Wind" achievement/trophy.

I like the thrill of the chase myself. I make players work for the bounty and sometimes they give up.

I usually just drive around and as someone approaches I go off radar and blend in with NPCs and as they pass by I get in my car and drive in the opposite direction and wait for them to realise that they've been out smarted

or find a nice little corner to hide in which is very easy to defend. friend or foe? if they arent on your friends list it is going to be a bounty hunter so kill them while they are trying to spot you. having a car outside blasting distance helps too. if you see a car and dot near it you assume they are in the car. you take them out while they are shooting at your empty car

Besides the pop-up when you enter a session, is there anyway to check to see if you have a bounty on you?

Go to the interaction menu and highlight enable passive mode, and if you can go into passive that means you dont have a bounty, if you cant it will say that you cant while you have a bounty on your head (meaninng you have a bounty)

You can't wait bounties in your apartment. If the bounty really bothers you, you can just have a friend claim the bounty and have them split the bounty with you or whatever the two of you choose or you can just mess around in an invite only session for 48 minutes (real time) and you will survive the bounty.

Pretty sure you got to survive 45 mins without getting killed

It's hardly worth it, I've survived a couple of bounties which have made me between 1k and 9k but in 45 minutes I could have made over 50k so financially don't bother however I find just roaming around the map robbing stores and checking no players are following or nearby generally helps pass the time and keep me safe. Most of the time I collect the bounty on another gaming session which is nice because I forget I have had them placed on me.
