Did anyone else not like the way guns looked in GTA5?

Both the rifles in 4 sounded exactly the same,

No they don't. The AK is more "thunderous" than the Carbine, but then again what are they supposed the sound like?

Like the actual guns. Again I can't see it being that difficult or expensive to rent a shooting range for an hour to get the actual sounds of the guns

An AK and an M4?

The two sorta sound the same to me too. Rather, the M4 just fires faster than the AK.

I've always found they sound distinctively different to eachother in game, but I prefer the AK as it just sounds better to me.

why are people complaining about gun sounds for f*ck sakes?

Why do you keep making posts that aren't contributing to the thread?

Why is it always when a few people make multiple consecutive posts in a row about something negative towards some particular aspect of both GTAIV and GTAV someone like you emerge and freak out with posts like that? Is it like self-defense instinct or something?...LOL

To be fair I've never been a huge fan of the way the standard pistol sounds in GTA IV. It's the only one I don't like quite frankly. The rest are fine IMO.

Honestly GTA players are so picky they care about the sound of the guns like seriously? I would understand if they were actually horrible sounding but seriously?

Believe me, little things like gunshot sounds can make a world of difference playing a game like GTA. It's just one of those very small , but very important details that needs to be done right to make overall game feel so refined and polished. It can also be the deciding factor that determines how much fun shootouts are in a GTA game.

Complaining about complaining is forbidden.

The chain gun is really loud in first person, I like that.

I'm not sure if it's just my ears, but they sound the same to me overall. Only the M4 had a faster firing sound and the AK had a slower, but louder one.

Not stupid seeing that the first gun itself is based off a Chinese copy without the wooden grip. plus, even if weapons were made to kill manufacturers don't like seeing their guns in games, hell two of the weapons in IV are actually based off airsoft variants.

Which guns were based off airsoft variants?

The glock and the Ithacha are both based off Airsoft variants.

It depends on the Gun,

Most sound the same due to the silencers / suppressors everyone uses.If you don't equip them then you can hear a slight difference between guns.

I wish there was less guns (Why do we need two carbine rifles) & more detailed customizability of guns.Such as :

Ability to switch between semi auto & full auto firing modes.

Different sights (lazer / red dot / green dot / etc)

Bipods for Snipers,

Grips,

Stocks,

Rails,

Just my thoughts

Thinking of it now, if I looked a them without knowing they were from IV, I'd tell you they are guns from a PS2 game.

Personally I don't have too much of a problem with how guns look or the quantity, just the fact that most of them don't fit in GTA much at all. A military-grade arsenal just doesn't sound too right being in the hands of bank robbers, street gangs, or even the military personnel on the military base.

Don't get me wrong, everything (well mostly everything) is cool. I just don't like the fact that we're supposed to be criminals (especially in Online where we're more free to choose our route in a sense) and we can't even get that right. Each character has enough firepower and advanced weaponry to take down an entire army. I get that GTA isn't supposed to be too realistic, but now we have state-of-the-art weaponry over true street-level guns. That bugs me.

Gotta love when GTA 4 fanboy say that weapons sound realistic in that game, lol, they basicaly sound like toy guys.

It's not worth it. It's not worth getting a temp over your stupid comment.

Dude I see you praising IV everywhere and wanting every car from gta iv to come to V

If anything you are an IV fanboy

So liking IV makes me a fanboy? I guess it works the other way around too?

I presume you don't know how a forum works? I can like what I want to like and criticize what I wanted to criticize. I'm not here to praise every little thing about IV or V, I'm here to give my honest opinions. At the end of the day I do prefer IV to V but does that make me a fanboy? No.

However if you still won't accept the fact that I just like IV more then you can f*ck off, you know where the door is, kid. :colgate:

Vice City's gun sounds were far superior to San Andreas. To me the gap between Vice City and San Andreas was much bigger than IV and V in terms of gun sounds.

And despite those "PS2" graphics, i still prefer IV's design. It looks more criminal and less military-grade.

They look great and very detailed in my game, I seriously dont know what are you talking about.

Seriously, some of you need to stop nickpicking both games so much, (not refering to the OP in this case), its get irritating very quick (not to mention the idiots who comes to the thread posting random sh*t to the OP, with out contribuiting to the topic at all), grow the f*ck up.

And if we gonna talk about weapon designs, a lot of the weapons in gtav (last gen, obviously) looks cheap and sh*t to be honest, and you guys know it, the AP pistol for example, whats up with that thing.

In iv, at least they look like real weapons (even though there arent many. One more weapon per type would have been much much better IMO).

Concluding with my point, GTAIV has much less weapons, which in my case, it ruined my experience with the game a bit, (it was fixed in EFLC though) but they at least looked and sounded unique.

GTAV has more weapons, but a lot of them are just fillers (sns pistol, broken bottle, bullpup shotgun?). Still some of them sound good. But for a 5 years older game, R* could have done a better job I guess.

The forum may need a GTA IV vs V subsection. It would be really popular.

The vintage pistol looks good in 1st person.

I dont mind the models at all, but I agree with the sound. Not a lot of the guns have a really loud sound to them, most of them just sound fake.

I like the RPG sound, Combat Pistol is pretty good, Shotguns are decent. Everything else is eh to me.

Admittedly none of the Shotguns seem to have that "kick you in the balls" feeling like the Pump Action shotgun from Red Dead Redemption. I'm not sure if it's the sound or the lack of recoil, but they all lack oomph. I use the Assault Shotgun because the constant blast noise at least has some punch.

IV set a standard for a lot of things, that's why :(
