Do helicopters have any weak spots?

I know on last gen the back rotors were a way to shoot them down but is there a method that still works?

If it wouldn't it would be just stupid...way to step up the next gen experience! LOL If even 3D era GTA games had it, then GTAV sure as hell should, that is not even a subject to argue!...

Logically you would think that shooting either the main rotor or tail rotor is a good way to shoot them down. But shooting the pilot is much more deadly.

Or you can pull a good ol' army-raid trick and use explosive guns.

The minigun takes like thirty seconds to cut down a chopper. It's a nice feeling to just hose it with bullets until it explodes, but it's not particularly effective.

Unless you go directly for the tail rotor, in which case it takes (me) about 2-3 seconds when they're almost stationary, with the minigun as you rightly say..

Well, yeah, but that's the tail rotor, the weak spot. You can shoot that out with a pistol.

On buzzards/Mavericks shooting just under the main rotor causes the fuel tank to explode. Can't always get the angle on it though.

Shoot out the tail rotor, or shoot out the snipers. If you take out both sniper, the coptor will just fly off. It'll return shortly after with new snipers.

Signatures are dumb anyway.

Snipe the tailrotor.. this will cause the chopper to spin out of control and crash each time. You need a heavy sniper and it needs to be on the left side of the helicopter for this to work.

"It'll return shortly"

You mean like 2-3 seconds?

Did they fix this in the PS4/Xbone version by the way? Nothing pissed me off more in V than shooting down a helicopter, only to have another one take its place almost instantly.

Tail rotors like you said, best with an automatic weapon. Taking out both snipers works to.

Best way for me is taking out the pilot. If you can't see him, shoot the sniper at the other side and the heli will turn.

Redwood Cigarettes

- Let them chase you through the wind farm and crash.

- Kill the pilot.

- Shoot the the tail rotor.

- Kill the snipers. (The helicopter will probably fly off)

- Shoot the engine area beneath the main rotors. (If it doesnt blow up the rotors may at least lose power)

- Use a homing missile / launcher.

All the best methods have basically been covered already
