Are you expecting anything significant in terms of optimisation?

For example very good sli/crossfire scaling, being multi threaded and taking advantage of more than 4 cores or even hyper threading, taking advantage of things like physx, tressfx, mfaa?

If so, do you think that the inclusion of this would have warranted the delays?

after GTA IV and the recents screenshots, I'm afraid of what will be delivered for us.

Okay, the specs are comparable to a PS4 for rec specs and that 'should' give a comparable PS4 performance.

If that is the case, that's a decent conversion, given the astronomical specs and performance required by PC, of recent 'other' publisher titles that run and perform well on console.

I'm expecting GTA IV v0.87b. I'll either be pleasantly happy or completely indifferent.

Chances are the game will play just fine from the requirements alone, but you'll never know until the actual game is released or reviewed.

Sorry for not Understanding, what do you mean by GTA IV "v0.87b"?

Nothing significant, just a not as bad as GTAIV...Also not as good as Max Payne 3!...The answer lies always in the middle...

Worse than GTA IV / Completely unfinished release

If they truly have developed the game starting with the PC version or since 2012/11 then I see no reason for bad optimization.

The thing is that there is no way to find out, so its only logical to remain skeptical...

I'm expecting a sh*t port. One example is the lack of ambient occlusion. Max Payne 3 had that and GTA V won't? It's too obvious that GTA V PC will end up being just like GTA 4 at launch. Mark my words.

I don't think IV's port is much of a valid reason to expect V's optimization to be bad. We're talking about a port made back in 2008, Rockstar's first GTA game on a whole new engine, also Rockstar's first PC game on a whole new engine, and a port not even developed by Rockstar North.

Sadly it looks like that. If there is no AO ready at launch the PC version will barely look any better than a PS4 with optionally AA.

You guys are f*cking depressing. I almost hope you guys have poor performance on your rigs. While everyone else is enjoying a smooth experience.

One example is the lack of ambient occlusion.

You keep using that word, I don't think it means what you think it means.

Ambient occlusion or screen space ambient occlusion? Which one is missing, sir?

Lights and shadows

N..no..

This place is f*cked.

People are taking these rushed out screenshots too seriously...

They were so rushed that they have no editing, they didn't even put the GTA V logo, btw they are also kinda uncompressed, Rockstar always compress them to use less bandwidth. *Zoom in the screens on the screenshots section and you'll see JPEG artifacts*

They only edited it recently when they put it on the /v/screenshots PC Section.

Game surely doesn't looks maxed out...

Judging by these requirements I think it'll run very well, and also the game is x64 only, less issues =)

I don't think they're f*cked enough to repeat what happened with IV, which was years ago with an early engine and a bad x360 emulator port.

Another thing: MP3. =)

It's 4K ffs. Of course they'll need to turn down some AO, AA, and AF to get decent performance.

As always defending R* at all costs, even after the slap they dealt on us.

Anyways... They've delayed the game again, so it indicates us that the game is so screwed because they've focused too much on the console version of GTA Online, they forgot about the PC and it's unplayable for now. They did have enough time to fix the game and their reputation with the PC gamers and they wasted it by far, let's see what happens on March 24(?)...

Honestly, I'd risk another delay, perhaps to May if the screenshots they show'd us is what they have to PC right now.. It's very hard to believe they can fix all those issues pointed on the screenshots from the last week - lack of AO, AA, LOD pools on the not-so-far-away mountains/buildings and all that related stuff after what they did with "IV xbox emulator for PC" and the last week incident.. Geez, I'm even afraid of the FPS rate.

At least the pre-order is already on and V on Brazil is fairly cheap, granted my copy and I've gained GTA SA, but the Steam version lacks musics :(

It's called recovery. You're saying as if I'm not shocked by that f*cking delay sh*t.

The delay is pure finance play sh*t. T2 fiscal year ends on March. Pure business tactic sh*t.

Why do people think max payne 3 is similar to gta? It isn't. Open world and closed world are entirely different, which means they can't be compared.

Optimization? From what I understand the architecture of ps4 and pc are nearly identical. I doubt R* has even started on PC, but I can't expect it to be as bad as IV.

You've gotta be kidding me. Why on earth would they not max out their promotional screenshots. They're supposed to be bullshots.
