Do you know the dangers of radon?

Radon is a cancer-causing, radioactive gas.

You can't see radon. And you can't smell it or taste it. But it may be a problem in your home.

Radon is estimated to cause many thousands of deaths each year. That's because when you breathe air containing radon, you can get lung cancer. In fact, the Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States today. Only smoking causes more lung cancer deaths. If you smoke and your home has high radon levels, your risk of lung cancer is especially high.

Radon can be found all over the U.S.

Radon comes from the natural (radioactive) breakdown of uranium in soil, rock and water and gets into the air you breathe. Radon can be found all over the U.S. It can get into any type of building homes, offices, and schools and result in a high indoor radon level. But you and your family are most likely to get your greatest exposure at home, where you spend most of your time.

You should test for radon.

Testing is the only way to know if you and your family are at risk from radon. EPA and the Surgeon General recommend testing all homes below the third floor for radon. EPA also recommends testing in schools.

Could be a part of the reason why some non-smokers and otherwise healthy individuals get lung cancer. Scary stuff.

From inquiries for a career in professional buttf*cking to a public health alert for radon copy pasted from epa.gov. What's next? Advertisement for suppositories?

i'd assume members start getting PM's from him titled "hi" with the typical "i hope you get crushed in a garbage incinerator" message.

When I saw this I was hoping it was the re-titled form of the sex entertainment thread.

A shame that it isn't.

Anyways I'm tempted to Radon test my house now.

Rown :rampage:

Radon is more prevelant in areas with granite. Bit of a bugger seeing as I live in a granite tenement in a city nicknamed the Granite City.

Modern buildings have the potential risk from radon factored into the Building Regulations (in aScotland at least) so I doubt there is too much to worry about.

f*cking hell! how many times was the word "Radon" used in that OP? Seriously though, do we really need to know this? I bet it's a copy-paste job going on here.

This OP might want to stop breathing so he doesn't take in Radon.

Radon is just a weak, starter element. Not enough radiation to get that "high" you really want. If you really want a buzz, move up to the harder stuff, like Uranium and Polonium.

Do you know the Danger of robots?

Robots are everywhere. And they eat old people's medicine for fuel. Robots are the cause of death to 58% of people over the age of 50. And when they grab you with those metal claws, you can't break free, because robots are strong, and made of metal.

WARNING: Those denying the existence of evil robots may be robots themselves.

We are all going to die! :panic: Despite advances in modern medicine, the percentage of us dying remains at a steady 100%. ;)

  • 2 weeks later...

There are a few radon hot spots around where I live. We had radon testing equipment put in the house for several months about a decade ago
