According to this article, Sony has announced Grand Theft Auto V as their number 2 seller for 2014 on PS4 (behind only Destiny) and on PS3 (behind only Minecraft).

On the PS4 front, I guess this proves all those who said no one would be rebuying the same game twice wrong, as it took only 6 weeks for GTAV to be #2 behind a brand new game that had incredible hype such as Destiny (and that's without looking at XB1 numbers).

On the PS3 front, it's pretty incredible as well, being that the game released in 2013 to record breaking sales numbers, yet still had enough power to reach number 2 the following year.

San Andreas still, to me, feels like the best of them...if they could combine that with what we have in V now, VI would be the best of all.

Agreed. As time goes on though, seeing both IV and V, I wonder if the only reason that I still favour SA is due to my age at the time and the period of gaming in which it came in. Still hope to recapture that enjoyment from a GTA game though. :)

At first I was quite shocked that Destiny had outsold GTA on PS4, but then when you consider GTA is effectively a remake from PS3, and Destiny has probably been the most marketed PS4 game it fairs up.

Plus the Destiny bundle was the only way to get a white PS4 in the US (at the time, at least), so I'm sure that helped as well.

San Andreas was kind of a perfect package...great characters (even though some felt they couldn't "relate" to the gangsta sh*t...whatever lol), smooth gameplay, great side events and activities and an amazingly well done story. I think V handled most of those elements well, though I initially thought the story lacked a little (I enjoyed it more in my second play...I think it was just kind of obvious where everything was leading). I don't have the fondness for IV that others do, as I only got to play it after I played V...it kind of felt like when I played SA then went back to play 3...it just felt ancient to me, which stinks because I liked the story. I'll be happy once they port it to PS4 so I can give it another go.
