UrbanJungle
Say you decided to go for some late night jogging around 11:00pm, you're running through a park and suddenly you come across the brutalized corpse of a young woman.. What would you do? Here's some thoughts, I go running regularly often at night, this situation always seems to be in the back of my mind along with the robbery or assault scenarios. Now you could be the good-ol dandy citizen and call the police but you seem to be the only witness, the only suspect and with our current social structure and corruption I believe they'd look for a scapegoat, corrupt prosecutors would salivate at the opportunity. A:Call the police B:Quickly vacate the area and pretend you saw nothing I'm probably overthinking this though, tell me if I am? Xanbukka

dudclub55
I'd call the police, but really, I wouldn't be jogging out at night in the first place, lol. Melech, PinkRibbonScars and Governator

lil weasel
Best to to keep on running. Don't stop, Don't gawk. Since it is already a corpse there is no life to save. So there is no civilian urgency. No expectation to protect the crime scene. Call the cops if you want after you are out of the danger area. Remember it is the duty of the Police to lock someone up, and it doesn't matter who, as long as the case is closed in a timely manner. (S)he who found it is the first person to be a suspect. This is a basic rule for all crimes.

Xanbukka
Over-thinking it, and, how much crime drama T.V. do you watch? Just wondering, really. Now as to the scenario, For one, I would rethink, what time of day, I'm out jogging. This all depends really, the surroundings. Out in the sticks, in the city, in the suburbs, on the moon..... etc. Secondly, how much do you trust your local law enforcement. True enough, good people get pigeon holed for just doing what they think is the right thing to do. Other places, just the opposite...... In the big picture, there would be a very low chance, you would get pinned for a murder, you can't be tied to through all the legal processes, evidence collections, what ever the local D.A. does, on, and on, and on. When in doubt, resort to what you should do, by LAW. You stubble on a body, out on your rounds, then notify the police. If you try to keep running, pretend you didn't notice it, yadda, yadda, yadda...... Not only might you face new "legal" hurdles, but you may face a personal problems as well, depending on your mental fortitude. Many people can't handle such a situation, psychologically, inducing a mental trauma.... study up on that one if I've lost you, just keyword it. All in all, I still say, re-think your jogging pattern. Less trouble is to be found, when you have plenty of light around, people, and or cameras. (natural crime deflector) and good luck. make total destroy
This is one of the few situations where I'd actually call the police. Typically, criminal trials aren't based on "he who smelt it, dealt it", so.. Gay Tony, Xanbukka, Fonz and 1 other
am30
I guess you could call an ambulance for a laugh, either that or arrange for a special collection by the scaffies - I mean putting it in a wheelie bin might not go down too well at the recycling plant, but I guess it would be classed as General Waste. You could either hump it or drag it home and out it in the freezer for winter. Yay, I got 2 taboo's in 1 post!
Tacymist
I'd just call the cops, ain't like your dna is on or in the body or anything. I'd never go night jogging again after that though.

Laura91
I'd run past then leave a anonymous call in from a payphone or business phone Well, first, you would need to FIND a pay phone. Good luck with that. A lot of areas are phasing them out. If I were in this situation. I would just call the cops. I would have no reason for being blamed for anything since I had nothing to do with the crime. But I wouldn't stand right there next to the body. That would f*ck with my head too much. Once they showed up, I would show them where the body was and explain how I came across it. If they wanted to ask me questions or even take fingerprints, I would go along with it. Just to prove that I had nothing to do with it.
Webster.
If you are jogging late at night and you live in a rough neighborhood then it would be best to carry something. Where I live, a few people were raped at this walkway - men and women - not far from my house and I would carry a Stanley Blade. I guess if I saw a dead body then I would examine the body then call the police. But I would probably call one of my friends or family first and show them then call the police Edited January 19, 2015 by Webster.

don ovdi' island
I would definitely call the police. You're mentionting a lot of polic corruption. Where are you living? police used to (and probably still do) put hits on people where i'm from. a killer with a badge. OT: call the police. Nowadays they can trace your phone and where you've been so i'd be able to prove i was not involved. If you pass it by and let it stay there and somebody saw you do that, then you'll be in a world of chit.

PhillBellic
Even though there is the presumption of innocence, until proven guilty by a court of law, I would possibly suggest calling a lawyer as well. Now it may not apply, in this case, but they may help corroborate your story.

Gay Tony
Even if you took what I consider a somewhat sociopathic root.. (I mean, imagine someone walking past a relatives/close friends body and kept walking... ) If anything wouldn't it be in your best interests to leave out the possibility of someone finding out you were there later on? Lord help you if that happens. Edited January 21, 2015 by mr toasterbutt
