How many days will it take to download GTA V after release?

I have 100mbps fibre - it would depend on how fast steam is downloading and also how big the download will be.

If it's 65gb about 2-3 hours.

I love my internet connection :)

Got a 20/10 cable here, so should take around 5-6 or 7hrs of download, max download speed I get is actually 2.250MB/s (according to steam) only downside is how much bandwith will be allowed for GTAV when its released.

Not that I will be getting it, but Australia is only ranked the 47th fastest in terms of Internet Speeds in the World, so if I was I would probably just get the Disc as I get something like 20/2 (bits not bytes), but actual file downloads are more like 2 MB/s...Truly second rate internet for such a developed country.

Edit: Apparently the Top Tier in our National Broadband Network (which is very expensive as we have a lot of space for a small amount of people) will be 100/40 mpbs and get file download speeds of around 10 - 12 MB/s.

You know that to get the real download speed of your ISP you have to divide by 8, so 20MBPS/8 = 2.5MB/s, On my side, Vidéotron offers a lot faster Internet Speed, but I don't feel like I really need it, and I can always boost up my download and upload for I think 24-48hrs for I think 5$ I double my download and upload speed on demand, which maybe something I'll consider before GTA5 release.

meanwhile back in Australia the internet plan that i pay over $200 per month for has a D/L speed of 274 kbit/s -_-

time to go buy a $90 game that is over-due at my EB Games store

link is here: https://ebgames.com.au/pc-154039-Grand-Theft-Auto-V-PC

l'm shocked

l thought Brazil was the worlds worst

here is about 100 local currency (40 dollars) for 1mb/s download

if it was 200 l guess l would download at least at 20mb/s

and there are only 2 or 3 companies in the bandwitch market for the whole country

I've had bad experiences with Steam downloading games on big days due to me being in New York.. which is usually populated, when I should be getting 10 up or so I'm downloading games close to 100kb/s

So.......hopefully less than a day, thank you for pre-loading though.

OP literally asked what will be his ETA. And you all guys begin to boast your internet connection speeds. Ignorant people everywhere.

Ignorat trolls like you everywhere! Most were just sharing information, is that so bad?

Troll? Me? Do you even know what a troll is? Do you even know how to read OP's posts? Or are you an attention seeking guy?

Doubt it will be 65gb, they'll compress a lot of it.

I almost completely sure it won't be 65gb! LOL Its like 80% chance, that it will be compressed and reduced to something like 30-40 gb in total size!...

Guys you're forgetting a small detail.. Installation size is 65gb, but download at least on steam can be significantly smaller, steam usually downloads compressed data. Bandwith is expensive to everyone afterall. :p

For example Team Fortress installation is 15,6Gb, yet you only need to download 7,9Gb:

Installation size: http://i.imgur.com/n9CcFsk.jpg

Actual download: http://i.imgur.com/b9fUPyX.jpg

I assume this is due to some assets in games being completely uncompressed, most notably sounds in the case of Source engine games like Team Fortress 2.

I get 4-5MB/s on Steam, but when I tried to download Payday 2 it'd download some then say writing to disk or something like that, then starting from 0 and working up to 4.5 then stopping again, it ruins the constant download, hope it doesn't happen with GTA 5

If only 7.9 GB are downloaded during TF2 download, that means there's already another Source game on your PC. First time I installed TF2, the download was 11.4 GB.

If I choose to use my McDonalds Dial Up (No plug intended) It'll take me 2 years and 27 days. I guess if I choose to use my high speed internet 4-6 hours.

Payday 2 is different from all other games.

I have that problem with payday 2 too. Even when updating it randomly freezes. It's weird but it won't happen with V

For me, it will take around 15 mins. That much time i need to get home from my local gamestore where i pre-ordered it a week ago. I dont like this download stuff. Its like torrenting it for money. But with the physical copy, i actually get something for my money.

I get 50/5 Mbit internet...

Although my ISP has an option where they let you boost your internet speeds to 100Mbit for 24 hours for 2 dollars.
I only ever used it once (To redownload a bunch of my Steam games) I might use it again for GTA V, depending on how long before the pre-load will open.

If I'm conservative it'll probably take around 4-5 hours, I doubt my internet will be able to constantly download that game at a 50Mbit rate.
Best case scenario it gets downloaded in 3 hours (If I can maintain a constant 5mbps download speed)

Guys the Game Size is 65Gb but we'll not download 65GB... Will be around 45-50Gb max to download, files are compressed on Steam don't worry in one night it will be done.

Don't forget game will have the Pre-Download feature, don't worry, you will get your game ready to play the 24 March :)
