New Creator Glitches

I've found a few tricks and glitches by experimenting with different ideas in the creator I'm going to share below, I don't know if any or all are known but they were new to me when I found them and I thought I knew them all so I wanted to share the knowledge with all my fellow creators who like to create new and unique content. I am playing on PS4 so all these are from that platform, I can't guarantee they will work on all platforms but I am 99% sure they will. I wrote these instructions quickly and could probably edit it to make it easier to read but if you read it slowly you should be able to understand the steps I have written, if not ask and I'll clarify any confusion.

1. Use your Personal Vehicle and/or crew logo in race photo.

There is a simple way and a complicated way to do this, the simple way is to be online and drive a personal vehicle you want for the photo and park it somewhere where it will look good and give you an easy angle for the photo, then call the mechanic to get a new car delivered. If you're close to your garage you can just walk in and get another car or if you're away from your garage you'll need to get get far enough away from your current personal vehicle to get a new one delivered. Now go back to where your previous car was and it will be locked and inaccessible. While the locked car is in view switch to the creator and create a new race (probably works for all creator modes). You should notice that your locked personal vehicle is still on the map and you can take the race photo of it or zoom in for your crew logo (logo visibility depends on car type and car position to get a close angle of it, the Hotknife has a big crew logo on the door).

The complicated method of this trick requires a Cargobob and a shallow body of water to drown your cars in. Once you have a Cargobob and found a suitable bit of water call your mechanic and get a car delivered, after delivery drive it into the water to destroy it but not too far because you will be fishing it back out soon with the Cargobob. Continue to call and request cars from the mechanic until you have all the vehicles you want for the photo (eg. 2 cars, 2 motorbikes, 2 4WD's), now use the Cargobob to fish them out and place them where you want for the photo. http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/wsmS9Eg6pEaRrKqJWbvLNQThis is a link that shows a race I made that has my PV Hotknife as the photo (don't bother playing the race, it was just some random checkpoints to show off the photo trick but check out the photo).

2. Instant finish races.

This trick will let you create races that finish instantly without having to even accelerate, the countdown goes 3-2-1-finished and race time is usually less than a second.

Create a new race, move the camera so it is looking straight down, do not move the camera again.

Place your race marker and place the checkpoint ON the race marker.

Now choose props and select the green container and hold the height modifier to place it as high as the map will let you (camera should still be lined up with where the race marker was) place another green container either side of the first one you just placed to make a platform big enough to fit a starting grid.

Place a new race marker on top in the middle of the green containers (exactly where it would be on the ground but on the green container in the air instead).

Place a new race grid on top of the containers.

Now go back down to ground level and place a checkpoint somewhere about a block away from where you first started, then edit that checkpoint and place it directly below the containers/race marker/grid that is suspended above (you should see a blue line going from the grid to the checkpoint, you want this to be vertical so it goes straight up to the grid), be careful when placing this checkpoint because you won't want to edit it again.

Now go back up top and delete the 3 green containers you placed, be careful not to delete the starting grid, I usually edit the props and move them away from the grid before deleting them to be safe.

Go back to the first checkpoint you placed on the ground below and edit it, you should notice that instead of picking up the checkpoint it has picked up the race grid, this is good, cancel the edit and the race grid will be back on the ground but the game still measures it from up in the air.

Change the race to point-to-point and depending on where you started the race you should be close to .62 miles (for exact .62 miles start this whole process on the big floating water platforms around the docks (looks identical to the new floating prop they gave us in the creator but you can only place the marker on existing Rockstar placed floating water platforms).

This can be used to make races to help friends trade wins, quick betting, or quick spawn points around the map.

http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/Y0POkFDNmUaXJt7WeStdfQThis is a link to a race I made that will finish before it begins, there is also a weird glitch with this that sometimes counts the time raced as over an hour long, I haven't found a productive use for that yet but it might come in handy for something.

3. Lock Marshall monster truck or any other new vehicle that is usually not allowed.

Create a race, make the starting grid small so it only has motorbikes and cycles. Give it a name and description so you can save the race, change starting grid to medium or large, choose "available vehicles" and select 2 other classes other than the one you want to lock the vehicle type on, I'll use super and sports as an example, now go to offroad and make the Marshall the only vehicle choice available in the offroad class. Now move down and change the default vehicle you would test the race with to offroad and it should automatically detect the Marshall as the only available vehicle. Test the race and save/publish it. Now when you load the race online the default vehicle type will be offroad and will be locked to the Marshall, the other two are super and sports as chosen earlier but if you change it from offroad to one of the other classes you will not be able to re-select offroad so don't change classes. When you confirm the offroad class and get to the vehicle select screen you will see the Marshall as the only available vehicle to choose. This trick can be applied to any vehicle it usually locks as not available to choose individually.

http://socialclub.rockstargames.com/games/gtav/jobs/job/jes4xQym4k-_AcdN3eg-tQThis is a link to a race that demonstrates this glitch, this is another test race I made just to show the locked vehicle so don't expect anything mind blowing.

4. Trick Spawn point.

This trick will allow you to respawn somewhere completely different to where the checkpoint is. I'll use the top of maze bank as an example to explain this one easier.

Create a race anywhere on the ground. place the first checkpoint on top of Maze bank, now edit it and place it somewhere on the ground so you can reach it (place it >.62 miles so you can test the race). Test the race and when you get to that checkpoint hold the respawn button and keep respawning until it puts you on top of Maze bank. This basically doubles the respawn points for that checkpoint, you have the usual 3 spawn points for that checkpoint on the ground and another 3 spawn points from where you originally placed the checkpoint (on top of Maze bank). Now to see the advantages of this, place another checkpoint on top of maze bank as the finish line, test the race again, when you get to your trick checkpoint - respawn until it spawns you on top of Maze bank where the finish line is. Unfortunately this trick only works in the creator, when the race is played online the checkpoint goes back to normal so my granduer ideas of making acid trip races that spawn you all over the map were short lived, also you can only set one trick spawn point which is why I recommend using the first checkpoint to set it up so you don't waste it elsewhere, then build your race backwards if you want. This trick is still useful if you are creative with it, I made a GTA race that has the 2nd last checkpoint in Fort Zancudo and the last checkpoint/finish line is on top of Maze bank, meaning the only way to finish it is to steal a jet and fly to the top of Maze to hit the checkpoint.

I have a few more tricks/glitches that I'm still testing to see what use they have, I'll make a new post when I have some of those ready to explain and what use they have.

Interesting tips, thanks!

Tried your example race for tip 3. But it doesn't lock to Marshall but gives option to choose super and sports as well. And custom cars. If not it would have been a very useful trick!

My experience: folks who play races that are built for monster trucks tend to bring their bifta or whatever. And can't finish a track designed for monsters. :(

Leave the vehicle class as offroad, once you change it you are stuck with sports or supers. I just played it and it locked the Marshall as I expected, try again and just leave it on offroad.

Yes but folks who see 'supercar' will most likely choose that class. That's what I mean. It would be great if that trick worked for one class only. But we can't have it all. Can we, Rockstar?!

@Leeds - yep, looks to be the same plus you've also experimented with the lap checkpoint issue, I've been messing around with that trying to get a lap race to finish instantly so it can be set to 99 laps and instantly finish to gain easy rp or cash or both.

@ingmar - I can't give you credit for me finding something out on my own dude, it appears other people already knew it anyway, I was just sharing stuff I'd been building with.

@Anidni - Yeah it's flawed but as long as the host knows they can control the class and make a locked car the exclusive vehicle.
