Do you guys really care about that broken ratio system? You know that when you do races alone it counts as a win too, right?

99% of my race history has been trading wins with friends to unlock car mods and paints and stuff

It doesn't really matter tbh, someone could have no wins and a 1000 loses but if they're a good racer and they keep winning, who's the actual good racer here?

As a couple of others have already said this isn't the case at all. If playing solo you will see the celebration screen at the end of the race featuring your character but it won't actually count as a win on your stats. The only exception would be if your opponent quits during the betting screen in which case if there was only one other person in the lobby initially you would do the whole race by yourself and still collect a win.

as an experienced racer (450:650) I can say a win loss Ratio is clearly an indicator for the components you are racing against.

2 of 10 Players have wins above 500, mostly wit a 1:2 - 1:4 Ratio.

These are always the Players im fighting for the win.

Win loss ratio is a important statistic to note when eyeballing the win. For example if a player has more wins than losses it indicates a level of maturity, knowledge. The same can be said for a negative win/loss ratio. imo.

Almost peed myself xD

strange topic, i'm surprised it has 16 pages :O

more wins than losses is normal when you like racing. at first you will have more losses, but when you're good there comes a point those two overlap and your winnings start slowly growing. i got about 1900/1500 ratio atm, but till about 1300 i had more losses.. the most insane case of a legit racing monster ive seen was 4000 wins and 1000 losses.

More race wins than losses is far from normal imo. It's not often I see people with a positive win/lose ratio at all and when I do I usually beat them relatively easy but there's of course one once in a blue moon that is impossible to beat.

If you only race randoms it is probably not a problem to have a positive ratio but when you race with friends and crew members that do nothing but race you're going to have a hard time having a positive w/l ratio

Many people with a high win ratio have manipulated the system to get it. They may have traded wins with a friend, but often they look for weak opponents or they host races and kick anyone who comes along with good stats. I have about 1100/2000 and I get kicked quite often. I usually look at player stats at the start of a race but often I find a high win ratio is not a good predictor of skill.

I'm sure some of them get their wins from playing against a little brother or sister.

Is this really all that uncommon? I haven't been playing a lot lately but I have a positive ratio and didn't think it was all that weird.

Lmao, I suck at races, I just do them time to time when I'm really bored. I think my stats are 19 wins and 47 losses. I suck.

I think that if you look throughout history, the "winners" were "losers" most of the time.

I could get myself 100 wins by finding an AFK player and setting Criminal Records to 1 lap and replaying it. There was also a glitch a year or so ago on the PS4 that let you lag out of the session while keeping the full race lobby winnings and being awarded the win. There were a ton of people capitalizing on that one since it was active during a x2 race week. And then there are the cherry pickers, the racers that only let low level players into their lobbies or kick anyone that wins. Ive been kicked several times just in the last month for winning several races in a row, and Im a clean racer willing to give up my position to keep it clean.

The only reason I check the W/L records in the lobby is to determine if I want to stay in the race. More often than not the 7000 win racer with 1000 losses is the curb boosting, pit maneuver pro that will stop at nothing to make sure you come in second. I generally avoid them. As much as I enjoy a good race, Im not interested in playing with someone that serious or that concerned with their record.

What I do wish they did was keep track of podium finishes. Id rather know how many times Ive been in the top 3 than how many individual races Ive won, especially with that broken ass catchup system that makes being in first in the last quarter mile the worst position to be in. The reality of a racing evening for me is consistent top 3 finishes...but Rockstar likes the all or nothing approach so theres that.

I get all sorts of cringe from reading some comments, people refuse to accept a positive ratio can be formed naturally, there MUST be a glitch! a friend helping, NO- lobby splitting! neat picking! kicking! those players are brutal they will do anything to win fair or not!

...

Get over yourself. The ratio is not as important as you make it sound. Its merely a side effect.

Lemme tell you about me, I never host lobbies, and when I'm accidentally the host, i would never kick anyone. I'd rather lose 10 times in a row with good racers than win with randoms. I won't do anything to make sure i win, if you're second that's on you. Never once have i rammed someone without him ramming me first with clear intention, in fact i will risk losing and take a wider arc without a kerb just to not risk ramming a clean player before the finish line. If i win twice or 3 times in a row, ill leave the lobby just so i don't frustrate the underdogs further. Of course i use kerb boost, who in their right mind doesn't? It's a game mechanic, the latest tracks are LITERALLY built around that, and around bike gliding, either pick up on the techniques or accept your forever 2nd and below but don't cry about those things of all things that just makes you look sad. It's easy to find things to blame for your failures or someones success, reading all that passive whining just frustrates me.

Idk how others are, but me, and some people i got to race against over the years, have more wins not because of some lame ass exploit or cunning behavior, but because we race well.

Oh and for desert, 'member when i said my overlap happened in the 1300's? Wasn't gonna rub it in but here ya go.

EDIT: @ Kenmy13999: You are correct, a positive ratio is much harder to achieve when regularly racing with friends of similar skill or just being a part of a racing crew, that being the case, it is not a solid indicator of skill, but rather of experience. I know plenty of people who have a negative ratio but are better than me. 95% of my races are with randoms through on-call so i guess it's only natural to start winning more than losing at some point.

Id wager there are as many legit positive W/L records as there are 3.0 K/Ds. The point most are making, myself included, is that the stat is irrelevant through and through. Are some legit? Sure, hell I have 120 more wins than losses myself but I cant tell you how many came from head to head, one on one races with my brother when the game first released or how many of my losses were me pulling over and letting a friend get the prize money.

End of day the stat stands no chance of being accurate and short of telling you how much someone races, its just another pointless number. But its not unreasonable to suspect foul play or try hard behaviors from anyone with several hundred to a thousand more wins than losses.

Side rant...As a racing enthusiast I play racing games where seizure boosting isnt a thing (and no its not a design, its a glitch Rockstar wont / cant fix) and taking proper lines is rewarded. Just because I can boost with the best doesnt mean I want to HAVE to race like that to be competitive...your statement about dealing with it or getting used to 2nd is a bit much. Having to utilize a broken mechanic is not about racing skill, its about Rockstar laziness and there are plenty of racing crews that forbid it. Theres nothing more frustrating than having a clean line interrupted by a boosting try hard that puts themselves into a wall...
