Did anyone had problem with driving after playing GTA V?

I just played GTA IV and I had no problems driving, it was easy. I think I can transition well between each GTA game's driving mechanics. For example, when I play GTA III, I know that the cars are easy to be blown up, and you can't bail out either. For GTA IV, I know it's gonna be "realistic". And for GTA V, I know it's gonna be some type of arcade game.

The best part of the driving in IV is if you take a break from it for a while and then go back to it a couple weeks later it feels so different and you have to learn it all over again. You should try it don't play IV for a week or two even though it's kinda hard to put IV down lol

So much fun

I can do better. I can go a couple months without playing it. Afterall, I own 10 GTA's. What do you expect me to do? Play 1 game and f*ck the other 9? Nope. I play all 10 pretty regularly. It's only V (1 of 10) which I play LESS than the other 9, but it still gets played...

I always hear IV or V this. This is 2 GTA's. What about the rest? If you play them all, none of them are challenging anymore and you can switch between them without having any need about readjusting or forgetting the map, etc, etc...

If you played all GTA's to the point where you basically know them by heart, then you should have no problem switching all the time when it comes to driving. You shouldn't need to learn it all over again.

No. In fact I enjoyed IV's driving a lot more. That being said, I've played the all the GTA's I own enough to master the driving in each one.

I kinda despise when people say, "GTA should be realistic, and less action more neck breakingly slow action" because remember when GTA wasn't realistic? GTA V does, because GTA is as realistic as Donald Trump's hair.

Driving in IV is bad. But nowehere as bad as the bike physics, the worst in the series.

Oh dear god. Flashbacks of those moments. I know this is supposed to be realistic but the bikes were beyond exaggerated.

But... I...

I don't get your logic here. R* wanted to reboot the series in a way, make everything more gritty and realistic. That's why they invented the universe stuff, and all that. But for some reason that's not good? Why? Play Saints Row if you want unrealistic things, man.

That's why V is such a huge blotch on the franchise, they caved into bullsh*t complaints about the 'realism' and went back to imitating action movies again. It's what made V a disappointment in my eyes, R* wanted to do something and couldn't stick with it.

A shame.

And that reboot received a lot of negative attention, because most of the players came from GTA SA, and they found GTA IV a disappointing game because there wasn't a lot of over-the-top action, and the number weapons and vehicles you can drive was toned by a massive amount. Then everyone got hyped for GTAV. Everyone started writing about, blah blah, etc. Then they actually play they the game any all of a sudden they miss GTA IV's realism. Where's the logic in that?

It's either because V was supposed to fix the problems in IV but only worsen it, or it's just the blinding glasses of nostalgia.

And it seems a lot of people didn't either.

You know when you really want something, but then realise that you never really wanted it in the first place?

I think that's kinda what happened. If I was using the forums at the time everyone was complaining, trust me, I would have been defending it.

CONT. EDIT: I never really cared for the over-the-top action anyway. Seriously, play Saints Row if you want that sh*t now. Please.

It was a reboot, R* wanted to go a different direction, nostalgic dickheads didn't like it.

I don't exactly see how the problems were worsened, getting rid of IV clunky exaggerated boat like driving system was more than excellent for me.

Although, V does mange to keep the tone of crime on pretty well, in fact, it is almost similar to LA's crime late.

I have had problems in dealing with driving from the start in both games. Both have certain annoying elements for being different than previous games in terms of changes brought to the driving physics and mechanics.

IV driving was a good change over 3D era and I believe it was shaping up in the right direction, but it wasn't perfectly executed ( and requires a properly modded handling set up ) having certain annoying issues.

V driving should have been really all about staying close to IVs driving with changes to only a few areas that require polish and refine in order to reach the perfect sweet spot, the way modding attempts tried to right the IVs driving flaws, but V leans more to the style that's not as realistic as IV nor feels as fun as 3D era, which begs the question of why they even bothered with changing the driving system altogether during the release of IV then?

Consistency really matters to me here, as both IV and V offer their own different system in terms of driving while none of them managed to correct the flaws, nor achieved a perfectly fine system.

Bullsh*t move from Rockstar, IMO.

3D era driving was garbage.

You couldn't go 5 seconds without crashing.

But I agree, you are right.

The problem is not with the driving but the AI and the traffic system in SA. Both can be modded and fixed.

Driving in SA was great, wasn't realistic nor perfect but still it was lots of fun by balancing out both pretty well. You need to drive more in order to crash less as the driving system was tied with your driving skill, and gets easier to handle as your driving skill improves over time.

Simple, yet fun.

I played gta v before I played IV so my first driving experience in gta 4 *slams on the breaks* "ayo wtf is this why am I sliding an extra 30 feet after slamming on the breaks!?!" whiy is my car handling like a busted shopping cart etc. you can praise and give rim jobs to gta IV's driving all you want but lets be honest its non tradidional there is nothing innovative about it and its crap tastic and if I wanted realism i'd play a driving sim. gta is not a simulator. I play video games to escape from reality not emulate it.

Are you saying that IVs driving is abhorrent? (lol)

Are you saying that driving didn't matter?

Are you saying drivin wasn't a problem in V?

GTA IV tried to be realistic when it came to driving, but while playing I had a few problems that limited the enjoyment of the driving.

Am I the only guy here who can appreciate both? I drove around Liberty City in a Super GT yesterday and then took my Massacro out for a photoshoot directly after. No problems, smooth transition. They both have their pros and cons. I prefer IV's driving to V's but I still appreciate V's unless I'm driving a sh*t car that was slapped together with copy-and-paste handling.
