bahraini_carguy Posted January 17, 2015 Share Posted January 17, 2015 I was (and still i'm) playing GTA V and just a week ago i started to play GTA IV once again but then i occur while playing a problem and it's the fact that V driving physics is way different than the IV one, i have found it very hard to drive which back then before gta v release i found it quite easy. so did this happened to you? is there any way to get improved and get used to once again? theGTAking101 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The first couple weeks after GTA V got released and when I went back to GTA IV it felt like I never left in the first place. If anything going back to GTA IV made me realise how shallow the driving physics are in GTA V. If you really are into GTA like I am and own the all and play them all extensively, you'd see that III is different from VC, VC is different from SA, SA is different from LCS, LCS is different from VCS, VCS is different from IV + Episodes, and IV is different from V. Officer620 Posted January 18, 2015 Share Posted January 18, 2015 After about 6 years of playing IV involving high-intensity vehicles pursuits, I haven't forgotten the controls that quickly. The handling is vastly different to V - you just have to remember that you actually have to apply the brakes in order to drive effectively (just like real life). Cornering in IV requires you to drive the car using a reasonable combination of the brakes, e-brake and the accelerator. It's not foot-to-the-floor-and-away-you-go like in V. After i started playing IV again, the first time after playing V, i went to make a turn and said "whoaaaaaa" cus i understeered like a bitch and crashed. Then i realized what game i was playing. UshaB Posted January 18, 2015 Share Posted January 18, 2015 When I recieved GTA 5, I did not feel there was a difference in the driving but after a year later I returned to start a new play through of GTA 4 and I was like,"Woahhh wtf, how did I use to win races back then". babo Posted January 19, 2015 Share Posted January 19, 2015 (edited) I haven't played V yet but man the driving looks like it went backwards. Still looks fun though - more arcade, less realistic IV driving and car damage looks a lot better especially with mods for increased damage but switching game, like from midnight club to gta, shouldn't really affect my driving in the other game. Even after getting used to it again, I realized how much I appreciate Vs arcadey driving. IV is just too slow and tedious to have fun with. I always felt that the 3D era GTAs were very similar with handling, III standing out slightly different being the first 3D era game. Other than that, it's a day and night difference when comparing the 3D, HDIV, and HDV handling. IV felt more on point as you had to prepare for what was coming. V you just jolt the analog stick a direction and you're able to slip through tight spots. 3D era was more like if you go fast, taking any turn could make you lose control or possibly even flip over. Also have to retrain my brain to actually use brakes prooperly. Of course i do, everytime i go back to IV i need some time to adjust. But after few hours i`m good. I have a weird feeling, the cars feel so slow and steering feels almost like in slow-motion or something. But after couple of hours i`m totally fine with it and i anjey it again. But i can`t say the same for bikes. I never liked bike handling in IV, as a matter of fact i hate them with passion and every mission that requires tailng someone with a bike is driving me crazy after i`ve played V. Anyway, I'm diving back into TBoGT and LatD and holy hell is it hard to drive after playing GTA V for so long! I'm hitting EVERYTHING, skidding through corners, braking seems like it takes forever. Plus the city seems more enclosed. I'm wondering how long this takes to get used to. I think if I decide to do a fully replay I'm going to have to stay away from GTA V for a while until I'm finished.
