Did they fix the sh*t Police/Ped AI for the PS4?

Police shooting you for starting dialogue with them.

Peds starting fights with you for standing near them.

Peds calling the police on you for no reason.

1 star that instantly turns into 2 stars in less than 5 seconds.

Police 24/7 moutain/ocean/desert surveillance.

100% Police Shooting Accuracy from any distance.

Any of this fixed yet?

From what I notice they seemed to have fix it a little bit. Cops no longer just shoot at you on 1 star and the shooting accuracy seems to be toned down so police AI no longer have Terminator like accuracy like last gen.

When I played on my cousins XBone version, I felt the police AI accuracy felt lowered. it was quite noticeable

None of it is fixed. The police (and any enemy AI for that matter) are 100% as overpowered as they were on last gen. Blind firing you from behind cover with a pistol over 100m away with pin point accuracy. Enemies tracking you through walls. Police automatic escalation to two stars without any hostile actions.

Just a broken broken game. I'll be very sad if none of this is fixable with mods on PC.

The player can blindfire with accuracy. The player can mowe down eight npc's in a matter of seconds with auto-aim on. The player can kill the AI with just a few shots. There is really no need to say that the AI is overpowered in terms of damage and accuracy. Besides, glocks have an effective range of about 50 meters. An AK-47 have an affective range up to 500 meters. Killing a human being 100 meters a way with any of these weapons is not difficult if you are trained to handle weapons. This is, by the way, exactly what the player can do. Compared to GTA IV, where the weapons effective range was very unrealistic, and even trained SWAT-members had a hard time to kill the player 100 meters away.

More than that, there is no doubt that the AI is flawed. NPCs call the cops for nothing. NPCs attack you for nothing. NPCs get afriad and run away looking behind their shoulder if you pass by. Beach parties, street races, etc. may get broken up because the player is walking past or standing there. During car chases rubber-band effect is in use similar to like in Driver 3 for PS2. Vehicles sometimes speed up and turn into you if you drive fast causing you to crash.

It's still sh*t.

Tbh I used to enjoy cop chases in all gta games but they are sh*t in V. No variety, there's barely any difference between stars and helicopters are super annoying.

IV: Dumb cops, low accuracy, low damage output, relatively low cop numbers, decent backup/respawn times and non-annoying helicopters.

V: Robocops, clint eastwood accuracy, medium damage output, many more cops, instant respawning, and helicopters are extremely annoying.

Perfect system?

1- medium accuracy, low numbers, high damage output, longer respawning time and 1-2 minutes helicopter respawning time.

Make em spawn in the borders of the map when zoomed out and we would have a decent system.

lmao

To answer, no. None of the above has been fixed. The NPC behaviour in GTA V is probably the worst of the entire franchise.

From what I notice they seemed to have fix it a little bit. Cops no longer just shoot at you on 1 star and the shooting accuracy seems to be toned down so police AI no longer have Terminator like accuracy like last gen.

Cops never shot at you when you had 1 star on LG mate

It's still sh*t.

Gott disagree with you about the cops in IV, I thought they were fine tbh.

They only thing they changed is that police cars don't drive to barren places. Killing a hiker on Mount Chilliad in current gen can still result in a wanted level, however cop cars will never drive up to you and the wanted level expires.

During car chases rubber-band effect is in use similar to like in Driver 3 for PS2. Vehicles sometimes speed up and turn into you if you drive fast causing you to crash.

I have a similar issue. I find than whenever I approach an intersection at a fast speed, the NPC drivers will either speed up or slow down to make me crash into them.

It's like they programmed them to make the player crash.

That usually happens when the game transitions the traffic AI from following a path to having to manually move to adjust to the player, the physics don't transfer over well and they go out of control or in a bad direction.

Cops however are programmed to make you crash on top of bugged AI of normal NPC drivers. There is even police scanner dialog for when a cop does make you crash. They will ram into you with their rubberbanding, do PIT maneuvers on you at slower speeds, attempt to box you in with multiple cars, and will attempt to drive in front of you and mimic your car movement to block you. If a cop car is facing you side ways and you drive to drive forward they will also attempt to move forward or reverse so that you crash into the side of the car.

I wasn't even talking about police, just normal pedestrians.

In the video it shows how cops hit you from behind but your wheels magically turn left or right instantly. Its despicable. R* obviously made this game for the lowest common denominator. "Casuals".

Thats one of the reasons why I want it on PC so I can tweak out the all the Bullsh*t AI and game mechanics with a MOD.

I couldn't agree more. The game would for example be ten times better if the vehicle handling was improved to middleground of what it is now and GTA IV, aswell as tweaking the damage sensitivity for vehicle so that sports cars actually gets deformed if you crash them into a concrete wall at full speed.

I dunno I`ve always found it challenging when you take it to the cops and no matter how high the star level I always find it easy to get away.

You know how sh*tty something is when it gets a 35 minute video explaining it in full depth

IV system wasn't really low damage output. Get in range of a shotgun cop and he will kill you in 2. The NOOSE/FBI are dangerous in close range if you don't react fast enough/if you let them shoot first. Basically keeping range is key, as it was in every previous GTA. On 5 stars, the police use the drive-by technique and they actually hit you. FIB/NOOSE should have been made to be better though.

Yeah that video is quite good, really shows you some of the AI flaws.

lol at the part showing the difference between police in IV and V. I completely forgot police in IV would draw there weapons on people attacking you and put them in the back of a police car. How anyone can think V didn't go 10 steps back from IV is beyond me.

If i kill someone in the desert with a silenced pistol with no witness still gonna get me 1 star?

I'll never forget on day one or two of getting V on the PS4, playing without the HUD and map in first person. I was going around just looking at everything and I was stood looking at those signs pinned to the telephone poles. Next thing I know I'm being knocked down or chased by a cop, as there must have been a ped behind me or something while i was staring at the poles. This escalated into a car chase through downtown LS. For standing and reading.

Just about sums up the system for me.

Why in the f*ck didn't cockstar just put in a code to turn the police off?

Cheats are usually the result of leftover debugging tools and boredom from the developers, they aren't obligated to put in cheats that fit people's needs.

I remember reading somewhere that Rockstar tried fixing the police but that the AI is just so strong and over powered that it wouldn't let them write any code to downgrade it.

Could you provide a source please, I kinda doubt that, seeing as police AI becomes a whole lot more forgiving during a random encounter, or mission, making it seem like it would be pretty easy to make them act like that all the time.

Also, the guy in that vid, has waaaaaaaaaay too much time on his hands lool.
