Hi guys can i run GTA V with:

4GB RAM

Ati Radeon HD 4800 series with 512MB

Intel Dual Core 2.4 ghz?

If you got lucky, I'd say you could run it, at all low settings max of 18 FPS

The only component holding you back is the GPU. It isn't very.. gaming worhy. I don't believe you'll have much luck.

You can get away with playing V, maybe not at 1080p with max settings though. You may have a problem with IV, but even if you have the greatest PC, you'll struggle to run IV.

I doubt it. GTA V doesn't play well with dual core CPUs, AFAIK. Your GPU isn't that great, either.

And even if you can play GTA V on a dual-core you're pretty much capped at 30~38 fps as any more would lead to stuttering especially on Windows 10. I get that on a G3258 system I'm playing the game on, trust me.

Not bad mate, not bad. I kinda' regret upgrading to Windows 10 as for some reason it partly accounts for dual-core processors stuttering once the framerate goes up to 40 or more.

Even though my processor is slightly below the minimum requirements, could I run GTA 5 at the lowest possible settings with at least 20FPS whilst driving in the city doing things?

Hello everyone.I have a question and I will love to hear opinions and it doesn't matter are they good or bad.I'm planning to buy a PC only for GTA V and CS:GO(probably).Specs are:Intel i3 4360 Processor 4MB Cache 3.70GHz

Kingston DDRIII 8GB (2x4GB) 1600MHz HyperX Fury

ASUS VGA GT740-2GD3 2GB DDR3

Toshiba 1000 GB SATA3 32MB

Thermaltake Smart SE 530W Modular

Samsung ODD DVD-RW Black

Windows 7 64-Bit

I won't to know can I play GTA V on High with 1080p without lag??

Thank you all!

The GT740 will hold you back a tad especially as the one you mentioned is a DDR3 model instead of a GDDR5 card. Your best bet would be at least a GTX 750ti or a 950 as any DDR3-based GPU is severely nerfed bandwidth-wise, so don't expect smooth 1080p gaming with it.

So 720p should work smoothly,right?

And with 720p and all setting on high, could I have about 50~60 FPS?

From what I've seen those who run the game on a GT 740 end up getting 35-40 FPS, but I'm not sure. As I mentioned earlier you'd be better off with a GTX 750Ti or a GTX 950 as they have ample horsepower to run the game on high settings at 1080p. Trust me, it's worth the $120 compared to skimping on the GPU.

I only have one very old laptop with windows on it, wanted to know if I could run GTA V on it at all. I know this laptop is very old and surely can't run it well, but could I at least play the normal storyline/gameplay without too many problems?

OS: windows vista home premium

processor: Intel® Prentium® Dual CPU T2330 @ 1.60GHz 1.60 GHz

I don't think it would even boot at all either. A cheap Haswell or Skylake gaming rig could be had for about $250-400 from what I can attest. Better stick to that rather than attempt to run a high end game on an obviously incapable system.

  • 2 weeks later...

I run GTA on 4k on a GTX 980, with an I5-4460 (3.2 - 3.4 GHz)

It runs ok, but improvement is welcome.

For my graphics i will wit for pascal. But my CPU... I know updating to I7 will do not much with the same speed. But will upgrading to the I7-4790K will help me? Just because of the more GHz? (4.0-4.4)

I can find a lot of talking about I5 vs I7, but not much about the speed of the CPU itselfs, maybe someone here knows more.

(My main goal is to get less popins)

Hello!

I'm currently building new rig, at this moment I bought only one GPU (MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G)....

I'm considering buying :

CPU (i5 4690K)

Motherboard (MSI Z97 Gaming 5)

Ram (8GB DDR3 or more)

And there's HDD and PSU, I have no idea what brands should I get (srsly does it matter?) ....if you have any tips about them please tell me.

Its enough for V?

What do you think guys??

Hi Everyone!

I'm new here, but I've been playing GTA series for years and specifically, GTA Online for about 2 years. Running it on the PC and here are my specs.

Edition: Windows 10

Version: 1511

OS Build: 10586.164

Processer: AMD FX -8320 eight core processer 3.50 Ghz

RAM 16.0GB

System: 64 bit operating system, x-64 based processor

It runs very well and no issues, I'd like to know whats the max I could go? I'm a sucker for the visuals and graphic textures but I don't want to run it to the point of lag, choppiness or crashing the game. I'd imagine I would need a new video card- but what to get... I have no idea. lol Thanks in advance to anyone who responds! :D

You definitely won't be able to put anything higher than lowest settings, if you can run it at acceptable frame rates at all. Nvidia Maxwell or AMD 3xx series cards will run it well, better if you go higher end (obviously).

- Get 16GB RAM (fastest you can afford), 2 sticks, not 4.
- For HDD go WD Blacks, highly recommended. Research PSUs, they are SUPER important to get a high quality model. Skimp out there and you run the risk of everything being screwed.
- 970 paired with i5 will get you 1080/60/ultra, or thereabouts.

Jonnyguru's pretty much the authority on PSUs if you're in the market for one. I do agree with NOT skimping on a power box. Use a cheap one that came with your case, and you're done for.
