Can I Run It?

Recommended Posts

I am running now on a KFA 980 on 4k with

vsync on

all AA off

quality very high

shadder high

shadow normal

reflection very high

water very high

particles normal

post fx normal

grass normal

pop dens 50%

pop var 50%

distance scaling 100%

- extended 50%

- high detail when flying on

anisotropic 16X

ambient off

tessellation normal

I run with these settings a reasoable stable 60fps (only a few drops to 50)

Now i am thinking about the 980ti (Asus strix) can i asjust a lot of the settings and stay on 60fps?

I searched a lot, but most sites and youtubers put simply everything on max (except AA) and show around 45-50fps. I would like to know what setting will run stable 60fps :)

thanks in advance

What to expect?

Core i3 6100 or i5 6500

GTX 750ti

8GB RAM

Also suggest settings please!

I assume you'll get 40-60fps on high to very high at 1080p. And don't even think about cranking up the grass setting either.

Try disabling shadows via settings.xml. Then again your laptop isn't really fit for playing high-end titles like GTA, so other than using mods for you to squeeze more frames per second off your PC, there's not much we can do with low-end hardware except to upgrade.

It is not the CPU, the i5 will handle the grass on a higher setting.... It is the GPU that knobbles the grass settings. It seems to be very resource hungry when it comes to rendering.

Hi, looking for some advice.

Currently own gta V on ps4, was thinking about buying for PC, Hardly play anymore but single player mods could make it worth it, my problem is my pc is pretty old. It meets minimum requirements but im wondering what kind of detail level and frame rate i could achieve. I guess im worried that i wouldn't even equal my ps4 lol

Well here my specs any help given will be appreciated cheers

AMD PHENOM 2 X4 955 @3.2Ghz

8Gb DDR3 @1333mhz

Sapphire Nitro R9 380 4Gb

Windows 10 64bit

CPU is a bottleneck for you but you can relieve a big chunk of that by OCing that CPU. Is your 955 a black edition? It can still be overclocked if not but just a lot easier if black edition due to unlocked multiplier. I have just replaced my X4 955 BE with an X6 1090T I got cheap on ebay but my old X4 955 ran fine at 4GHz.

Yeah, its BE. I used to run it @ 3.8ghz just from the old Radeon Drivers, i think it just upped the multiplyer. But when the crimson drivers came out, the cpu overclock app disappeared and i lost the OC. I tried upping the multiplier in CMOS but it wouldnt even POST. I had to clear CMOS, and have just settled for stock performance again, i really dont know much about overclocking tobe honest

RAM is low and GPU requires you run in low mode command lines....

You should be able to play SP, but expect popin of scenery and generally laggy play. Not impossible though.

You'll be able to run the game more or less, but the GTS250 will hold you back quite a bit. Going for at least a GTX 750Ti or a 950 would do the trick.

I watched on youtube one guy had same stats with weaker processor he had 30-40 fps on normal.

Well if you're fine with playing it at such framerates, it shouldn't hurt to do so, though on the long term I'd swap the GPU with a newer one in my case.

A4 CPU will hold you back, I'd try low and stick to single player for now. Everything else is fine.

It'll run fine, expect around 30fps on normal, but you may need to turn down the res a little. GPU is a little low, but the extra gig of ram it has will help with that to a degree.

Adding a stick of RAM helps, but it definitely won't boost your graphics performance. You'd be better off spending some scratch on at least a GTX 950, or if your budget allows, a 960 or 970. Just because it says "HD Graphics" doesn't mean it'll give you HD quality visuals at an acceptable framerate - it's a misnomer.

Running nearly Maxed @ 1360x1024 with a 3 year old laptop

i7 3620 QM (Turboclocks itself to 3.2 ghz

8GB Ram

650M GT 2GB

I turn down the MSAA and stuff like that if i want performance in the silky smooth 50-60 fps, Otherwise, it's max all the time at around 30-45ish everywhere in los santos. Probably alot more once i go out of the city.

You are forgetting about grass rendering.... It won't climb much in the country, indeed it might drop in areas where foliage is heavy.

When you overclocked via the Radeon settings it included CPU core voltage jump. I suspect when you did overclock via BIOS you forgot this step. Have a quick google on overclocking Phenom II - 3.8 to 4.0GHz is very doable on the 955 but it will need a bit of an overvolt.

HD 5500 I would guess would give you perhaps 15 fps average on the absolutely lowest possible settings so it really might not be any fun at all even if you get past the problems you have now. When things get busy I would imagine it choking down well below 15fps as well.
