Can I Run It?

You will have to decide which OS you are choosing. For some people windows 10 increased the performance in GTA 5 while for some people it decreased the performance.

On that GPU don't expect much. You should get a GTX 950 or GTX 750 as it will sufficient, I guess.

I think the processor is good. :^:

About Ram, 8 GB should be good.

I think i'll go with Win 7, Can always upgrade to 10 later when I've settled in with the computer as I'm not sure how well V performs on 10 compared to Win 7,

I have about $310 together for a new PC at the moment so If I was to buy a PC with those specs, I could just always pull out the 680 GPU when I get more money for a GTX, sell the 680 GPU and buy a GTX 750 - 950 with what ever's left over.

I'll see what happens and it's good to hear that the Specs I have in Mind this time have a good chance of being able to run V on decent settings.

You can search on youtube with these specs and see its performance and if it satisfy you.

Yea you can probably run it, cpu might be a small bottleneck for gpu but not too bad, my guess is high w/ some very high or ultra at 60fps

R9 380 4gb old?!?! you have got to be kidding, right?

Haha, thanks for the reply. I bought the R9 to breathe life into the 'old girl' it worked i play Elite Dangerous on high settings with a decent fps, it does dip though noticebly though but weirdly not in combat as you might expect but just looking around the cockpit slows it down LOL

I really wanted to know if i can out perform my ps4, and thanks to you, I'll probably pick it up in the new year. Just spent way too much money on the Steam sales ! :)

Doubt you'd be able to run the game in such a laptop; you'd be better off with investing on a gaming desktop rig or a similarly-specced laptop e.g. an ASUS ROG or MSI's gaming series.

No, that laptop probably wont be able to get 5 FPS at the least. I have a laptop similar to that and the performance isn't that great even when it comes to general usage.

Not unless if it has a provision for a discrete graphics card, i.e. a PCI Express slot. Having an Intel HD for a GPU just won't cut it.

I don't think you'll be able to run it. I had a similar system and it didn't run very well. Sorry.

What model is your GPU? GTX 970 or 980? You should be able to play the game just fine, with at least 60FPS.

It looks like you don't have a discrete video card. You could buy this one and likely not have to upgrade anything else: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/zotac-video-card-zt7060510m\

With it you will be able to run the game on medium to high settings.

If you're encountering issues like that then it's probably due to the fact that you have integrated Intel HD Graphics.

Currently running windows 10, an r9 290 (4gb), i3 2105 (@3.10GHz) and 8gb ram. How well could I run it, would my cpu hold me back? Thanks :cookie:

Shouldn't be a problem with R9 290. With high settings and advanced settings off you would get around 50 to 55 fps in city areas and 45 to 50 in grassy areas. Framerates may occasionally dip to lower 40s during rain and many explosions but not less.

Is it a desktop? It will work but don't expect any miracles from an integrated Radeon.

I've read that V should run at 1080p60fps with the minimum system requirements. How true is this? Can anyone with a similar system provide any feedback?

Doubt it, not unless if you dial down all the settings, shadows included.

Would there be any cheaper alternatives to any of these, but that would still allow me to play smoothly?

I originally had a $1000 budget but is there anything good I can get with that?
