Should The Elegy Be Sellable After Spending a Certian Amount Of Money

Upgrading it?

dPZ986E.png?1

As of right now we spend $95,000 to buy it can spend close to $200,000 upgrading it with no return if we decried we want to get rid of it.

The Elegy is a decent enough car but a lot of people won't get it because they know they can't sell it.

A good option would be to allow the car to be sold ONLY when you spend more than $75,000-100,000 upgrading it so it can't be abused as people often try to do

Would you buy an Elegy if they implemented something like this?

Yes or No?

If No Why Not?

What would be a fair amount that should be spent before the car becomes sellable?

They should just make it not free anymore. Most people have it but I think you should have to pay for it seeing as it's one of the best sports cars.

i say yes!

evenknow the car is free, the upgrades are not, so yes we should be able to sell the car for 60% of what we spend on upgrades.

i remember like 5 patches ago the elegy was not free on the website, it had a 95k pricetag, the car was sellable for a couple hours before it got hotfixed.

there was a glitch that made the elegy sellable but it got patched as usual.

Yes, i can't see how it would be abused if you get 60% of your investment back. Unless the car gets duped, wich you can do with every car...i also think you should be able to sell a stock elegy for $0 instead of destroying or replacing it.

Well, when you sell any vehicle that you've modified, you get back 50% of what you spent on the current upgrades it has (not all upgrades, just what is on the car at that moment) plus whatever the resale value of the vehicle is. I think it's 50% of purchase price for cars you have to buy (but I'm not positive on that one. I'm sure there is an answer out there, but I really couldn't care less to bother looking). I know that the standard "resale" value of stolen cars is 10% of the new purchase price based on what you get vs. what they cost to buy online (Ballers pay $9,000 but cost $90,000).

Since the Elegy is free, then of course you shouldn't get money for selling the car itself. But I agree, you should at least be able to recover the 50% of the current upgrades value.

When would you ever consider selling an Elegy? Have you seeeen it?

Keeping on topic; in all fairness, the Elegy is supposed to be a gift for joining the Social Club, so it should stay free. That being said, it would definitely make sense to be able to sell the car for a percent of whatever modifications that you install.

It used to be sellable at one stage. I've overwritten five fully modded Elegys at this stage. I keep trying to like it but I always realise I still hate it.

There is no reason to get rid of the Elegy, hence why R* didn't bother to allow us to sell it.

jk, its because cash cards

Nah.

Please explain why...

People will find a way to abuse it. As they did before, which is why you're unable to resell it now.

It's free, and if you really want to get rid of it, just buy another car to replace it and take the loss.

That's why i said that the car will only be sellable after spending at least $75,000 if not more on part and you will only get the regular 50% return when you sell it so it won't be abused as you are loosing money as they would only get about $30-50,000 back.

Not if you duplicate it.

It definatley should be sellable, so we can get rid off easily if we so wish. It should be sellable tho for only 50% max of what you put into it and sellable for $0 if it's in stock condition. No reason why it shouldnt. I've got rid of mine 3 times now, no biggie but as I have spaces in my garage at the moment if I wanted to get rid of it now I don't think I can. If I try to replace it as I've spaces the game won't allow me.

Can we remove the insurance from it then destroy it? Does that work? I've never tried to remove insurance to see..

Boy, I tell you, "Rockstar can't put X because it will be exploited" should be its own formal fallacy.

Yea, you bought it for free so you should be able to see it for free.

perhaps you could sell the mods only, but mods values' depreciate as soon as you buy them, you never get a full return on them anyways. And paint adds no value to your car.

It shouldn't be free anymore in the first place everyone had a chance to make an SC account and get it.

They should've made it so that the Elegy actually came with the NG version of the game so that having an SC account doesn't affect the price at all.

On topic:

They should make it so that after applying certain mods that the car actually has a selling value.

How is it a fallacy when that is just what folks were doing? Duping the Elegy and selling it over and over again?

They should allow you to get the standard 50% of mod $ back.

That was a duplication/replacement glitch, and it didn't involve purchasing upgrades for the Elegy. I don't think that's what people are suggesting here.

People aren't going to not get the free car because they can't re-sell it. Most people don't get cars in the game with the thought of re-selling them.....

Stupid thread

'Buy a Mega(I can't spell it)thingy and earn a 1-time only Sell Elegy Card'.

OT: Who cares? It's free and my go-to car when insurance is glitched by updates....which reminds me. Is insurance still glitched on current last gen update or could they hotfix it?
