Seeing the game on somes Steam library will be a relief to them. They (and me) trust R* on their game's quality (I personally don't trust R* marketing currently). After all its personal preference.. You don't want exclusive bonus and feel insecure, don't pre-order it. When you feel the game is good enough for you to buy, then buy it. Simple. GrindoLindo Posted January 17, 2015 Share Posted January 17, 2015 (edited) titan fall was a big failure, obvious console port and crap maps and weak dlc. watch dogs is pretty good, they only got flak for lying about the graphics. to me the visuals look fine and there's a nice big city to explore...just get some hardware freaks who complain their 3000$ rigs can't show off watch dogs in the same quality as E3. it's all marketing, it happened with far cry 3, that got a downgrade by release....still crap game. nothing beats the first one. destiny got flak for bugs, online issues and weak solo play and for not being on pc. unity can't comment on. Costs 10 euros more than on local store i know what you mean, digital downloads costing more than a physical copy, makes no sense. manual & other bits = money to print case = needs money to make loads of them disc + label = money case cover = money advertising in shops = those carboard cutouts = money pre-order boxes = money what do they need to do for a download? put some servers up with the game on, steam and rockstar page already has game for sale as well as other online retailers. I haven't ordered on Steam anyway. I'll probably end up buying on Amazon. That's a better for me. Too add to, GTA Online's coming with the PC version, so they won't even think of making it some sh*t console port. Rockstar is much careful about GTA V and hopefully won't disappoint us. True MP3 port is solid, no one is doubting it, but people please tell me one reason, why any of you think its going to be the same as with MP3?? LOL Just why you think every single game after MP3 should be well optimized? I just not getting this logic! Besides don't forget MP3 is a linear shooter, while GTAV is huge open world with lots of details and nuances! LOL A lot of you seem to be forgetting it, while bringing MP3 argument onto the table! The main reason for optimization I'd say is that the PC Platform keeps evolving while try to maintain a stability. Open World and Linear shooter difference doesn't have much to do with the platform. The same GTA IV port that was Rockstar's first GTA title on their new engine? The same one that was their first time getting a game to work on the PC with their new engine? That same port that had most of the performance issues fixed after a few patches, once they figured their sh*t out? The same GTA port that was ported by Rockstar Toronto, instead of Rockstar North themselves? I don't know, it kind of rings a bell. Can't be 100% sure since you don't seem to know what you're talking about, especially considering you're bringing up games from totally different developers. Here's a short story that I wrote in Hebrew somewhere on Facebook, I call it "Me and GTA V -- The Waiting Game" When Rockstar announced GTA V on October 25th, 2011, I knew that as a PC gamer I'll have to wait "a little bit" longer. So I waited.... When Rockstar delayed GTA V's LG version from Spring 2013 to September 17th 2013 I said "Meh, I guess I'll get GTA V for the PC in mid 2014, 8-9 months after the consoles, as always..." and I kept on waiting... Then "Mid 2014" has arrived, and the PC version was announced "Fall 2014" they said, and when "Fall 2014" came by, they said "The release date for the PC version will be January 27th, 2015". I thought "Great! It's right at the end of the semester, I'll have time to play between the exams!" Then, on January 13th, 2015, Rockstar announced another delay, to March 24th, 2015. I was f*ckING pissed! So pissed that Rockstar banned me from commenting on the newswire for a month, due to an angry comment that I wrote there. I cooled down and said "Meh, March 24th is right before the Passover/Spring break! I'll have 2 free weeks to play" Then yesterday, January 16th, Rockstar made pre-orders available and I immediately bought a copy on Steam, now I have a copy and I wait patiently until March 24th... It's almost the end... GTA V might be another terrible port but I'm still going to play it and enjoy it, because Rockstar's most awful ports are still infinitely better than most other publishers' flagship games. Did you even play titanfall for more than a few hours? The map design and movement is the best thing about the game, the dlc added more good maps. The textures are poor but the only reason this game really failed is because not enough people understood its mechanics, and if you don't use the wall running and play the game like cod it's very sh*tty. Evolving! ...heh...The odds pointing towards quite opposite unfortunately! I know a lot of people around these forums see me as negative nanny making complaining or arguing posts most of the time and i'm not going to argue trying to prove that they are wrong, but every time i post legit and reasonable criticism about this game i get the same reaction of other people telling me how i'm wrong! LOL It weren't even once when any of my points were proven to be wrong, by bringing reasonable and worthy explanation of WHY they think its wrong! Its a long story...When i say that odds pointing towards opposite, i mean the fact that statistically from 10 games released and ported on PC 8 would be terribly optimized (and yes! that is given how advanced PC technology is these days!...) and you can't possibly convince me otherwise! I'm following gaming scene ever since i was 5 back in 80's, i lived through Super Mario Broths 8 bit gen, followed by Sonic The Hedgehog 16 bit gen, then PS1 gen and so on...I know how gaming developed back then and how it is now! Even compred for not so long period (like 5-6 years in comparison) the dynamics of well optimized games sufficiently suffered compared to what it was 5-6 years ago!...Maybe power of next gen console is going to fix that a bit, but i don't believe that situation will drastically change! It requires strong will from development teams to heavily work 24/7 making sure their products meets highest standards of these days and most of them just prefer to sit with a bottle of beer and do nothing, while investing only about 15-20% of their time into actual work! With the development process treatment such as that it is very naive to expect, that products will be of highest quality and ports will be well optimized! And don't even start me with all this - "But man! Its R* we're talking about, they don't drinking bear most of their time, they really work hard..." kind of bull...I know beforehand that responses like that will be coming, so i wanted to assure people to not even bother trying to tell me that, i'm not going to agree, because i'm familiar with development process pretty well as one of my good friends works at GSC Game World (Which are widely known for critically acclaimed for its success Stalker game!
