passive is a ingame feature. deal with it folks. ffs stop offering private sessions, this isnt a option to anything apart from private playing. Just because the OP decides using a in-game option for a few minutes to steal a HPV doesnt mean the rest of his session should be played totally alone. Fuk off with your private session option. If you have a issue with a in-game option being utilised tell someone who gives a fuk like R* that you want it changed.

Here's R* saving the best features for current gen. I've been f*cked over way too many times on 360 while in passive mode. I just want to see someone put into a bad sport for killing me in passive but they still go after me and continue to kill me, nothing happens to them.

 

This video is a perfect example of why I'd use passive mode, also. Why can't this be done in last gen? It's like non contact races but in free mode so there shouldn't be any console limitations. What a rip off!

Using passive mode is hardly a cerebral undertaking. Its the cheat mode allowed for online.

The only real tweak I think it should have is that you shouldn't be able to go passive for about 2 minutes after you kill a player. If in that 2 minutes you are killed by a player then the time limit can be removed and you could immediately go passive when you respawn.

 

 

I'd agree with that but 1 minute should be enough for any revenge if they stick around. They run, they get merc's, mugger and maybe a bounty as long as they stay in a vehicle.

 

 

So after arguing with and insulting me in the other thread about passive mode, you now completely agree with my suggested tweak to passive mode. Check.

Oh, another reason I'll use passive is if I'm out of ammo. Especially if I'm outnumbered, no C4/Rockets/GL ammo when they're trying to spawn kill me running me over is a bitch. Love pulling out the Rocket Launcher on a reversing Zentorno only to hear the sound of multiple clicks and he gets the kill cause I can't do jack about it lol.

 

Most of the time I'll go off radar so I can ammo up in peace, but there's no avoiding getting spawn trapped by Z's and the like while I'm on foot without any explosives. What else are you supposed to do but go passive so you can regroup? If I have a chance, I'll go off radar and suicide so I can get in a car to get out of the hotzone.. but with 4 or 5 around 1 person with cars or on foot with miniguns/RPGs and I have no ammo to knock at least 1 or 2 out, the chances of even getting the third ring on Lester's call is slim to none. Passive - regroup.

I don't usually agree with you but this is spot on, to me passive is actually working like it should.

 

Although it should have a bigger cool down period to cut down on abusers, it also would help people identify who WANTS to be in a war.

 

I for one really wish they added it to last gen.

And where am I agreeing with anything? I'm not. I still think what you say is total and utter bovine manure. However, instead of crying about passive mode on a fan forum, I find ways around it and use that to my benefit. To that end, I like passive the way it is.

I'm sure many would make the point that, that's where the fun lies in this & that passive mode only serves to kill that fun, which is true for the person trying to steal the HPV, whereas the same thing certainly can't be said about the person trying to deliver the HPV, that's for damn sure.

 

The fun lies with me trying to deliver it while not in passive.

Why? Because the time, effort, ammo and money involved in competing for the vehicle simply isn't worth it, so there is no reason to do it other than to annoy people.

 

It has been a while (a whole generation, in fact) since I delivered a HPV so maybe the vehicle values have fluctuated since then, but a year ago the highest payout you could get from Simeon was approx. $12,000, give or take.

 

Even if I am alone in a lobby with a chain of HPVs all to myself, it still isn't worth my time when there are custom Dubstas just waiting for me to come get them.

Yup. I have a video like this too. I got chased all the way to simeon's garage by a guy in a buzzard. Then someone else blocked the door with a sandking. Buzzard boy tried killing me again and only succeeded in blowing up the sandking and clearing my path to the garage.

People complained about passive mode on last gen consoles. Now people are still complaining about it. Of course people are going to use passive mode to get special crates or deliver simeons car, that is the wise thing to do.
