Getting upset about it on a forum is the noob thig to do. Learn and adapt dude. If it really upsets you that much, there are still ways to grief (let's face it, that's what this is all about - not being able to grief the dude minding their own business, playing their own game) the person in passive in the HPV.

It's people like you trying to take out the fun of playing an online game by using a mode intended to be passive in as an exploit to gain an edge in battles over others. Griefing is not about shooting someone else in the face, it's about deliberately trying to take someone else's joy away. And you are doing that...So you, my friend, are in fact the griefer.

Op, how dare you use your brain and a bit of strategy. That is simply not welcome here. You've got to think of the GTA badasses e-peen and let them grief you.

 

Pressing a button that makes you completely unkillable is neither smart nor strategic. It's obvious, and easy. If you want to defend its use with respect to the HPV then fine, but posts like the one above just make me shake my head.

 

It's also hilarious that you talk of griefing. Killing someone in a game that actively promotes killing is not "griefing." Maybe killing someone 15 times in a row is. Blowing up the HPV rather than trying to steal it is, at worst, mild trolling.

yeah. and use passive mode yourself, so that no one can shoot you out of the car. and park with the drivers door against the wall so that no muggers can steal your ride.

Yup. I have a video like this too. I got chased all the way to simeon's garage by a guy in a buzzard. Then someone else blocked the door with a sandking. Buzzard boy tried killing me again and only succeeded in blowing up the sandking and clearing my path to the garage.

I think the lesson here is the original guy in the HPV didn't jump into passive and while that is his fault, it was a crappy move to hunt him and kill him, then jump into passive to steal his time and money (from getting the car and respraying it). Yes the option is there for everyone but crap like this is why people are so angry about it even being an option. If you want to chase and kill people, you shouldn't then instantly jump into passive so they can't do it back. It may be an option but if you want to be in passive you shouldn't be all aggro first. There should be an option that you join a session passive and if you want to not be in passive you have to leave the session and then rejoin. Doubt R* will ever change anything with it though.

How am I getting "out of the fun"? Being griefed and chased when I'm minding my own business is not fun. In fact, it's extremely boring. So this is about griefing as it is about stopping someone who wants to be left alone to do their own thing from playing their game. The whole HPV thing is not (as some try to claim) about a fight for the car, it is and always has been "if I can't have it, no one can" nonscense. I wasn't making fun out of your English, I was mocking the way you wrote that specific post. Your English is fine as we can see from this post.

 

That aside, I don't believe I've missed the point at all. You wish to play free roam without being disturbed. I assume you mean being attacked as appose to not having interaction at all. This is understandable and I too wish we could just meet people and take part in group activities. We all know this isn't what is likely to happen a majority of the time and you are going to be attacked for no reason. This is what you use passive mode for.

 

You don't use it to gain an unfair advantage against other players in the same server.

 

If you see nothing wrong with this then I see nothing wrong with having invincible zentornos, glitching money, griefing you with a jet/tank or using any other exploit. Exploit because that's exactly what it is, you're exploiting what passive mode is actually there for.

 

When all is said and done, you learn and adapt and there's always a way to beat players like the O.P. Funnily enough once you've put them in their place it's usually met with the notification "______ left"
