The PS4 and Xbox One are seriously turning into remaster machines. I wouldn't mind this at all if Rockstar gave the same treatment to GTA IV and integrated its two expansions into one big cohesive game online and off. Though the real reason I want a remaster is because IV's online multiplayer is dead. With a new issue of the game that scene would be revitalized. In all honesty I've had much more fun playing IV online than GTAO. Maybe it's the more responsive physics and Cops n Crooks mode that made IV more fun online but I really miss that experience. If they make a remastered version it's not going to get people back into multiplayer. Everyone seems to have moved onto V. I expect a 10th anniversary edition in 2018 with all three stories combined. On one hand I'd love to see GTA IV with updated visuals, details etc, but on the other I feel like they might screw up the game's original integrity. A lot of SA fans didn't like the HD version on 360, but to be fair it was more so a port than a "remaster". If GTA IV gets a genuine remaster I'd be happy with it, but going off by R*'s track record probably not. Don't worry about updated graphics or anything just leave it as is. It's a dream come true that we can play games like III, VC, and SA on our f*ckING PHONES. And a remaster of IV for next gen? I don't know, unless they integrate GTA Online into it, I doubt it'll be a hit. Though if they release a PC version as well, and assuming it's properly optimized, then I'm all for it. It feels weird going back to my Xbox 360 controller on component cable definition after playing my Xbox One. I would love if Rockstar were to re-release IV and its episodes with HD PC graphics on current gen XOne and PS4. Then, i can finally "retire" my 360 in peace. HaythamKenway Posted January 22, 2015 Share Posted January 22, 2015 I'd like a remake with upstate/Staten Island/expanded Alderney, more story content in TLaD and TBoGT, character switching and all of Episodes' weapons and cars in vanilla IV and some extra content and features such as ability to save photos. Now that's something that would even convince me to upgrade to a new system. Simple remaster with slightly updated graphics and the buzzword that is 60 FPS? No, thanks. Say what you want but new gen V is an enhanced version of the original game which is what IV should be. Don't change anything but improve what is there. Give it a better framerate and a higher resolution and allow us to remove the filter like you can on PC. That is pretty much it. Right now, playing IV everything seems a little soft. Even when it came out I got that impression. I'd like to see crisper graphics and some more secret places... hidden areas and making more ladder places, rooftop access for roof hopping and more things happening in the alleyways etc. A weapon wheel would make things a little more fluid in the gameplay department and maybe a new HUD without moving too far away from the original experience. A remaster would be nice. It would be great if Rockstar had a dedicated studio for such endeavours. We all like new games but we become so attached to certain games and places in games. They have a certain magic, maybe it's drenched in nostalgia but it's definitely magic. I also dislike the slow motion background with the weapon wheel activated.
