Contact job objectives

You know, contact jobs are pretty much about killing and stealing.

There must be more stuff criminals could have done.

Like body disposal, smuggling, human trafficking, mugging...

What crimes could a thug commit in Los Santos?

Yeah, some of the missions aren't as "creative" or as "unique" as they could be. It's all just shoot this, take this, kill that. Like the idea OP.

Most are go to point A, get briefcase/drugs/documents/kill some dude and photograph the corpse 'cos Madrazo is into that stuff, go to point B.

Could do with more missions like the Los Santos Connection and just more variety in general.

Glad, that i'm not the only one who sees that.

For example, disposing of a car with a body inside the trunk for Madrazo. You drive away, get a SMS from Martin that someone sang and the police got informed.

Now, before you dispose of the car, you have to lose the cops. After that, you drive the car off the cliff and try to not kill yourself.

Los Santos Connection is a nice, complex mission. I too liked it.

Rockstars idea of being "creative" is to have some goofy mission where a mexican cartel boss sens you to blow up some planes in a fighter jet >_>

yeah, i wish they could have come up with some better stuff. particularly the simeon missions. i wish those would have involved more stealth to steal/repo a car then just running and gunning.

Great thread!

I'd like to use the intimidation mechanic from store robberies on more influential characters around town. (we've seen this before in GTASA - rocco strapped to the hood)

More protection missions

Inciting riots (rabble rousing)

Corporate espionage

They have a couple where you rescue you people (Bust Out and Clearing the Cat House).

But really, almost every mission from every video games follows the same basic format.

@Alec Skorpio:

Yeah, considering that Sneak is a dead skill nowadays...

Unfortunately the NPCs have a 360' xray vision and no FOV. It could be at least scripted for some missions, like Rockford Roll.

@soundism:

Espionage is also a nice addition - photographing...

Hey, how about Paparazzi missions? We're in Vinewood after all?

Starting with some b-stars and ending with mafia bosses or mafia daughters.

I would like that.

I believe y'all are referring to hists and hist prep stuff. They're the primary reason we haven't got more contact missions besides chop chop crime scenester denial of service and a handful of others.

Rockstar have had a hard time keeping regular missions working correctly. (Chopper tail specifically, a mission with an obscure first objective)

The intricate stuff you guys are talking about is probably on a to do list after hists and getting regular missions actually working again.

Need to have missions where you have to protect a certain area from a rival gang for a certain amount of time and maybe after that you need to move to another area and protect that. They could design it so that jobs are similar to "capture" jobs except it's players vs the AI

I would like to see a mission involving the train.

Creativity mustn't be complex. Alone a fetch mission with time limit is simple enough.

The problem is that the current IA won't allow us to more creative stuff. Ever player Holed Up Burton? You have to escort some guy that the enemies never attack... that lame IA is programed to shot, shot and shot to you and get rid of the tactic sh*t.

I've considered paparazzi missions before.. Would be a great free-roam activity (ala assassinate target)

I'd like to see more ambiguous mission objectives.

Like the bounty hunting missions in SP, where only a description and general area are given. No objective blips

I'd love to see Rockstar bring back a version of home robberies like we had in San Andreas. There's SO many mansions close to the golf course that are just begging to be robbed LOL. Make it so that between certain night time hours, you would be able able to hack a mansion's security system. Then you could use stealth (which is currently useless in online) to steal items from the home or maybe crack open the owners safe to steal money.

As that guy is too stupid to drive and the enemies are stupidly accurate shooters, player would probably have no chance to pass.

As for AI, you're right, NPCs are too stupid, unless they work in unbroken script. So the whole creativity must happen around the player.

@BamaGoodfella: that would be a lot of new interiors...

Yeah there's only like four kinds of missions and the only differences are the locations and cars. I hope heists bring some much needed diversity to GTAO.

Indeed, most missions are based on the same objective, I would like to see an actual stealth mission, not sure, it could be nice or something similar to the IAA extraction were you need to use rappel from a helicopter to get to a building, maybe we could do something like that in the heist dlc, but whatever we need more missions.

How about some mission ideas?

For example, one mission is to steal Brucies Banshee for Davin Weston, just to piss Brucie off, the another mission is to recover the same fuсking Banshee FROM Weston for Brucie.

Not complicated at all, but at least, something different.

I would just want missions which are part of a sotry. I just feel like my character is in one universe and then teleports via a worm hole to help other randoms out in a parallel universe only to get thrown back into the original universe again.

When a missions only objective is kill 10 people and bring A back to B in a certain time or after losing the cops that doesn't really count as a 'new' mission.

I think we need more 6+ player missions, like "The Los Santos Connection". Now we have 30 player freeroam the majority of missions being only 4 people isn't really enough, maybe even 8 player ones. Also, as time goes on lots of people are higher ranked now and doing simple stuff like taking a car isn't very challenging.

I'd like to see multiple simultaneous objectives, for example you have to steal a car, but its got to go undercover ASAP, so some players have to go find the car and steal it, the others have to steal a truck, then the car and truck have to rendezvous on a highway somewhere and the car has to be driven in to the back of the truck whilst moving - if the car stops the mission fails. All the time enemies are trying to shoot you.

Maybe a rescue mission where you have to save someone, but at the same time the other players have to steal a particular helicopter and then come and pick the others up.

In story mode there is a mission where you steal planes that have arms on board from sandy shores airfield, you then fly them out to the shore and drop the guns to waiting boats. Half the players could go for the planes and the other half steal some boats, planes drop the stuff to the guys in boats who then deliver the arms.

Or a mission starts and some players spawn in a warehouse/barn where they have to protect something (lets say some spying gear for Lester). They have to hold off attackers whilst other players fight their way in to join them (maybe they have to hack in like some current missions), then the protected item has to be delivered to Lester.

You get the idea.

Someone said about using the train in a mission - great idea. I was thinking the other day that they could do a big mission (or even heist?) based on the great train robbery ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Train_Robbery_%281963%29for those unaware). There are number of tasks that could be included:

1) Setting the signals to stop the train

2) Doing the actually robbery

3) Getaway

4) Provision and clear up of the safe house afterwards

Recent re-enactment of the robbery : http://youtu.be/bzgf88iUE1U and http://youtu.be/YkDxrzRXqDk

Mission creator will make contact missions come alive hopefully.

I'm really quite pissed they decided to do a video editor for PC instead of concentrating on mission creator. How crazy would it be if PC users could make missions for all platforms. I'm ok not having access to it myself but the wealth of content that would come from even a PC mission creator would bring so much to the game. Edited by stonedpimpso
