Why are people such sour sports at tennis?

I've yet to complete a single tennis match vexUse I'll always be at 4 wins and they'll have 0 and then they just quit. I get no experience and all my hard tennis playing is worthless . Why can't anyway stay for a full game? I think I've only completed one game ever and it was because I was the one losing and im not a poor sport and quit !

They suddenly remember "Oh! sh*t! I could be having FUN right now!" and exit to go ride their BMX.

Tennis sucks thats why. R actually did a good job with it but its still tennis. A game is like 20 minutes minimum. and the rp and cash payout is sh*t. No ones gonna stick around for 20 minutes if they are down 4-0. If you really want to play tennis try to find others who do as well in the lobby and meetups section.

It's just to easy to quit. It if was as easy to quit in other modes, you'd see everyone quitting there too when they see they have no chance of winning.

After more than a year, I got someone to finish a 5 setter with me....finally getting the 2 awards that should've been easy to get, but are the actually the toughest to get without swapping wins just because of the quitters.

OP, I sympathize. Perhaps, if you want to complete an entire tennis game with someone, maybe you should not slaughter them for the first 4 sets, since that can understandably be very discouraging for them. Tennis has a learning curve and few people play, so if someone is playing their first game against you and they get dominated, they understandably give up.

I suppose that tennis could actually be a fun, interactive mini-game if people really got into it. But I think unfortunately that 99% of the GTA0 players only want to kill and ram-win races, so tennis is not high on their list. I've had a couple of tennis invites by friends who wanted to get the achievement for completing a tennis match, and I have accommodated them.

They're too busy watching paint dry, grass grow and other activities that're more fun than tennis.

I'd play tennis if it was playable with these sh*tty ass servers. At least 50% of the points my opponent scores are purely based on connection. Balls teleporting, opponent teleporting, opponent hitting the ball without being near it, my character not responding to what I do at all. It's just f*cking awful.

I just play those games like tennis, golf and darts with my friends because if you play with a random person and you are the one winning a lot of them will quit the game.

I would play tennis, if there would be a option to play versus NPC.

I don't think there's much point in tennis if you're not playing against a friend. I've never accepted a tennis invite from a random because I know if I was losing 4-0 I'd probably quit without giving it a second thought.

Whereas if I got spanked by a friend (giggity) then I'd take the bitter pill and have a laugh about it afterwards.

Anyone up for tennis on PS3 feel free to shoot me a friend request. I promise not to quit. Heck I don't even care if you rage quit because unlike golf and darts, sc counts rage quitting as a win if your opponent leaves.

mmm chocolate

Same goes for Golf and the Shooting Range.

The thing that trips me out is that people will quit instead of trying to learn the activity better and or wanting to learn how it works.

And tennis lags, too.

YES. Thanks for mentioning this. It's one thing to quit and be a bad sport when someone is kicking your tail at Tennis, but it's another with lag in the mix.

You serve the ball going towards my left, and I hit it already. The game doesn't register my hit.

That's frustrating, and I think that's why Tennis, Arm Wrestling, and even Darts are a turnoff to most.
