sashovec
Hi! I am from Bulgaria and traing to translate GTA IV on Bulgarian so my folks who dont speak English to be able to play and understand this beautiful and sense game. But i got a problem. After opening the text files: \Grand Theft Auto IV\common\text\american.gxt or \Grand Theft Auto IV\common\text\russian.gxt and editing them, the symbols I have typed aways are showed as nonsence chars. Interesting is that if place russian text from russian.gxt to american.gxt the game show letters correct. I use X GXT Editor V.2.2 for editing. Help please im so desperate, so many try so many disapointments. If nessecary infornation needed I'll give. Thx in advance. NTAuthority
You need to change character encoding to UTF-8. IV since 1.0.0.4-based patches (including the potentially-leftover Cyrillic support in the EFIGS 1.0.7.0, but also the Russian 1.0.6.1) seem to use standardized UTF-16/UCS-2 again, just like III/VC did. V is the first GTA to use UTF-8, mainly due to Scaleform mandates.
