The main reason Rockstar released it after consoles is to maximize their profits and any company will want to earn money. But they are delaying it too much. I think they should have released it earlier.

These console kids don't appreciate good games. They play it 1-2 times and move on playing another trash "hit" shooter / slasher and like it more only because it's an exclusive.

 

That's why they are referred to as casual gamers, attention span is very short. They play games in one go and then it's off to X shop to trade in for another game.

 

I don't get how people get a game and then complete it as quickly as possibly and claim to have enjoyed it thoroughly, to me if a game is really good I don't blast through it and then chuck it away like used tissue. I keep the game and keep playing it.

 

for rubbish games I try and get as far as i can before it gets too bad and it's uninstall time.

Lets see... the concept behind the Community of the PC Master Race, is that you don't necessarily have to use a great PC or game on PC all the time. You merely have to admit, objectively, that PC's are better. It obviously depends of how the PC is built, with what components, and against what console, yet, the most powerful PCs, always outperform the most powerful Consoles, even before they are released.

 

I think consoles might make it to another generation screaming for their survival, but nothing more than that. You see... the console market is much smaller than the PC market, obviously, as they are way more expensive on the long run, unupgradeable, and have fewer "purposes" than the PCs. Either way, this is all just speculation, both your comment and mine, so I think you should stop being so aggressive, and wait to see what happens. I don't think you'll even care about this by the time you see what happens. I'm sure I won't either.

The game is delayed and I don't care?

I want to play it, purposely waited to play the game on PC since at the time of the game's launch I was building a gaming PC and wanted to play it on there instead of the 360. It was delayed, then I hear about the PC version having first person mode and other enhancements which got me hyped, then I see the delay and I can really care less. Maybe because I am not into the video game scene as much as I used to be, thank you adult jadedness, but really it will come out when it comes out, not like it will deplete or something to that effect.

I think each of these releases were preplanned and the releases designed for maximum profit. Designed for us to buy the game more then once. I have played GTA since the first one and i was about 18 or 19 when it came out. To see a company like R* take these types of turns signals an end of an era in gaming for me. R* was who i considered to be the last holdout, the last real gaming company that cared about the player just as much as the bottom line. Though it's not just the fault of R*. When i started the GTA community itself where the hardcore and rebels of gaming. Today? Fanboys, kids etc.

R* treats the PC community like sh*t, why can't you see it? The delay of Grand Theft Auto V is an obvious fact that they don't care about us, the game has already been released in two different generations of consoles but no PC. You may be saying that it's because they are polishing the game, let me tell you that you are believing a big lie, they had more than a year to do so. But know what? It seems that the PC community is full of masochists because you are still buying the game. Yeah, whatever, waste your money the way you want, go ahead and pay $60 for a 2 year old game.

 

This isn't the first time that they fool us, you know? They released an awful port of Grand Theft Auto IV after a big delay (like this) and let it like that, they didn't even ported the game to Steamworks despite all the petitions made by users to do so. They screwed the PC version of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. They never released Red Dead Redemption on PC despite the large number of players asking for it.

 

You can pre-order the game, no one will stop you. But think about this, you will be fooled again.

Im just happy to get the game eventually. if it didn't come out on pc i probably would never play gta v lol. If rockstar didnt release it on pc, it would be a real dick move........ a real dick move.

* I can't read whole the thing, I'm sorry. Everyone has it's own opinion, either GOOD or BAD. I think what they are doing is wrong. Yes, game give us many feature, but, it ''gave'' us. We already seen that all 2 years ago, in 2013 on XBox and PS3, right ? We will get better graphics and some DLCs, it stay. I won't argue about that. But DO someone remember GTA IV ? It was delayed, it game 9 months later than console version, and they fu**ed it up. Game was so laggy. We don't expect this with GTA V, since they had 2 years to make a game be good. But saying that price is ok to stay 60 like 2 years ago... It is kinda wrong. Again, everyone has his/her own personal opinion, but to me, South Park game, is really amazing to this day, and isn't that expensive (16 dollars). I'm not saying that GTA V should be the same price, but 40 is OK. Nevermind, I'll buy it some day later, month... YEAR. If I could wait 2 year until they're ass haven't decided to do something about PC version, I can wait for them to put price down.... Still, if they support mods that much, why no Workshop ? I believe bad decisions and inability to co-ordinate are two of the reasons why the game is being delayed, even after being a port (if possible). I hope they don't come with the Marketing excuses again, like they did for Max Payne 3.

Commercial software is a pile of bugs, dirty hacks, workarounds and mismanagement.

And you can't just throw infinite money at something and make it magically work in fields where you actually need to develop something.

Firstly don't get me wrong I love pc gaming as much as the next guy, but to say consoles are a dying breed is an absurd statement which just smells of fanboyism. If anything I'd say pc is more of a dying breed for gaming than consoles, and I'm a frequent pc gamer. More and more of the big name developers have low priorities for the PC platform and this has been a growing trend for a good 8 years now. This entire GTA5 fiasco is living proof of this, look how small of a dev team they have working on the pc version compared to the console versions. Just shows they don't care much about developing for pc like many of the big devs which makes me sad but it's happening.

 

I don't want to start a console vs pc debate I absolutely despise fanboyism so has to respond to those ridiculous claims.

It is a physical hardware issue though, not the actual state of the console tech....

 

Since the cooling on the console is much more passive, the CPU is almost underclocked to aid cooling, in effect it is like a muscle car, very powerful, but that power is pretty lazy in it's delivery, especially when the CPU is under load.

 

But the limit of silicon manufacturing is being reached by PC hardware now and that means we need new and more expensive materials with better cooling properties, which are out of the price range of all of us right now, but especially on 'cheaply manufactured' consoles.

 

Even the hardcore console journos admitted these new consoles were much more about tech integration than improved abilities, of course they have some, but compared to previous generation steps the difference is much smaller.

 

The result is these consoles will be here for a while, until the new materials enter the cheaper price bands, beyond the price range of the uber-PC price, as these new materials will not be available for the mainstream for some time to come yet.
