Dynamic Melee Weapons/Temporary Object Pickup Ability?

The whole ability to pick up snowballs during the Festive Surprise Update got me thinking... what if they took that same mechanic for picking up snowballs as a temporary melee weapon, and applied that to random objects. You could pick up any loose objects and use them as a weapon until they break.

Maybe I have an urge to pummel the one guy who constantly spawn-killed me with a chair, or charge into him with a car door... or beat him senseless with a doughnut an NPC just dropped. It'd make for some interesting gameplay at least. That, and it adds just a tad more needed immersion, which is always good.

Thoughts?

Exactly.

It's like as gaming progresses, smaller more interesting features are done away with.

it would be nice to be able to throw a rock to distract npc and use stealth.

Good idea. In case Rockstar doesn't feel the need to add those objects, they should at least look into replicating the snowball feature.

For example pick up animation in certain locations in Los Santos would spawn city based object (bricks stones etc) in your inventory.

In the countryside you get dirt, rocks and sand.

I like that. Have certain pickups available depending on your location.

Pfft... you mention sand and I can't help but think of replicating this:

I thought that was in GTA IV too, remember grabbing bricks and lobbing them at pedestrians.

Would be a good online feature

Believe me or not, the first thing I was looking when I got gtav was the button to pick up object.

I thought I just didn't know the button because I played IV on pc back then.
