no the new passive mode is a godsend. i do so enjoy being able to go about my buisness. its nice to go to ls customs to get my car modded go to the store to buy clothes etc without some crazy bastard being able to shoot me or blow me up for no good reason at all. they call it passive mode . i call it f*ck off and go have an unsanctioned deathmatch with other idiots of your kind.

They should put a timer on, like if youve just killed someone you should have to wait 10 seconds to enter passive.

 

i agree trolls should not be able to take advantage of passive mode.

Freeroam, once you get to a certain level is very shallow. It has no depth apart from waging war and completing the odd car mission.

passive is not cheating it is a part of the game and sounds like someone knew how to use it and abuse it pissed you off is all. now wall breech glitches, glitch selling vehicles and god mode stuff and the like is cheating.

My "real problem" is any competitive game that lets you beat someone else by doing something incredibly easy and cheap. Yes, I do have a problem with that. I own it fully. Any moron can get one kill and then immediately go passive to prevent retaliation. Go ahead, tell me I'm "mad" like a teenager would. Yes, I'm mad at bad game design. I'm mad at mechanics that are flawed in ways that are incredibly easy to fix, while a chorus of yahoos tries to shout me down for essentially no reason (because the fix I'm proposing is minor and would barely be noticed by people who aren't trolls).

 

It's good game design to minimize the amount of cheap and unbalanced crap that makes the game experience less fun for a substantial number of players. It's bad game design to allow stuff like this in, and even worse to let it stay in just because "hey it's free roam and who really cares?"

1. After getting a pk, there's a cooldown period of 3 minutes or so.

2. No freemode tasks can be done in passive mode, like taking the HPV, cratedrops, or armored cars

3.When going out of passive mode, it should be more visible...like making the dot on the map blue or/and showing a timer above one's head.

 

This should make a true passive mode, just for people who don't want to get into a fight with others.

Spawned at SS Airfield and saw the guy trying to lift his car up with a cargo bob. I thought, oh w.e he's trying to have fun..got in a single propped plane next to him and started the engine. He crashed his cargobob into my plane...it didn't blow up for some reason. I got out just in case it had a delayed explosion, start walking away STILL give him the benefit of the doubt because he seemed like a crap pilot.

Yeah I hate it when people do that. I love Passive Mode on NG, I enjoy the fact that I can muck about without having to go to an invite only session which is what I mainly did on LG as Im not all that big into gun fights etc.

 

However I do fear that people abusing the Passive Mode as OP describes is only going to end up with R* making changes or getting rid of Passive Mode.

It is as much cheating as this Solution on PS4/Xbone:

 

Get the Lobby to "dance" around/inside the Tank User in their Vehicles (ideally all get Large Vehicles say a Bus) while in Passive Mode yourself. The tank is slow moving, so continually being covered by the Ghost silhouette as you are able to catch up with him/her will get annoying fast and they will leave.
