passive mode is basically cheating

to today this player took out his tank, killing everyone in sight especially me, i'm not the one going to passive mode every, i'd rather join another session or just flee, but i decided to team up with some players and confront him. What we did was rocket launch his tank until it got destroyed, he went to passive mode afterwards and we thought the fight was over, so we left our guard down, right afterwards he went back to normal killing us all and then going back to passive mode. Now this is just one of the many problems about passive mode, i've noticed they abuse passive mode when getting crates and other. i believe that passive mode is like cheating, if you abuse its rightful purpose

Passive mode is a tactic albiet a pussy tactic. I like passive mode because when im done having a freeroam war it means im done.

passive has a 1 mon cooldown and 10 seconds where u are vulnerable with no weapons.

Lol i do that all the time to piss off serious players.

 

I am really good in the tank, i dodge rocket launcher like nothing (unless its the homing) and i kill dozens of people. When they come after me i go IN PASSIVE IN MY TANK AND DO 360 BURNOUTS WITH IT!

Free roam is for every player to do exactly what they want, regardless of what other people want/think/like. That has no relevance or bearing on free roam whatsoever.

 

If you want to play "bang bang" with the other CoD fans then play deathmatch.

 

Free roam is free. Get over it.

 

Incidentally, are you on PS4? If so, what's your PSN? I'd love to come laugh at this happening, whilst in passive mode.

I dont really consider that cheating, I just consider that being a pus. If they take a HPV or crate in passive then I consider that cheating and being a pus

hey hey nothing is wrong with passive mode and crates that's my strategy or you prefer lag switch (which is worst) either way im getting that crate with out wasting my bullets on these cod ppl.

 

either way passive is the best thing ever on current gen. get over it and move on.

And it's players like you that make this game borderline intolerable sometimes.

 

I'll say this for the 1,000th time: passive mode needs a cooldown timer after you kill another player, before you can use it. If you kill someone, it should trigger a 5 minute timer before passive can be activated. It's just beyond sleazy that people use it to grief even more effectively, or to win battles where they had lost the upper hand (e.g. the other day, a guy was rooftop sniping - as soon as I took him out and climbed up to his perch, he went passive, ran around the corner, climbed up on an even taller building, and then turned passive off again).

 

If you're tired of troll tactics with this otherwise-pretty-much-fine tool, then email Rockstar and post on their support forum about this. Ask for a cooldown. It's very much needed.

It's not cheating & it has no rightful purpose, it's a tool so use it how you like as there is no right or wrong way so next time don't let down your guard. That being said I agree it should have a 1 minute cool down before you can re-activate or disable it.

He's cheating in a game that has no rules! Amazing how many hackers/glitchers/cheaters there are in this game(!) Heck, I'm probably cheating in some way as I'm currently idling in passive whilst I write this! These people make me laugh and despair at the same time.

 

OP, the dude was in a tank - eitehr go off radar if you want to take it out or just stay clear of the slowest moving object inthe game. it's hardly difficult, especially now that Rockstar will hold your hand and give you a special little symbol for a tank.

so yeah anyone that goes in a tank or jet griefing and goes passive when their vehicle get destroyed are complete pussies, therefor the term pussy mode!

How about no? I'm gonna keep playing GTA because I bought it, because I feel like it, and because I don't care what you think for one second of my entire long life. You seem like a mouth-breather, "bro."

 

I don't grief players. I go out of my way not to, in fact - seldom kill any person more than once or twice in a row unless they keep coming after me. I still think passive mode has some problems, and the fact that you can turn it off one second after a massive tank or jet rampage is a big one.

I know right? I need to be able to kill low levels who have no explosives or haven't bought the Homing Launcher yet with my tank until I decide to stop.

they should make the cooldown period for passive mode like 10-15 minutes. that would stop ppl from killing you, going passive, exit passive and kill you again.

Last Gen people would grief with the tank and leave after having it blow up to grief some other freeroam

 

Next Gen people go ghost when they lose their tank, travel safely to their next tank and continue

 

At least you can see tanks now but srsly, R* needs to stop pandering to casuals

 

 

 

 

 

 

Also forced pickup location for tank should be Zancudo, who the f*ck picks up an armed tank at the beach/chinese theater.

I don't give one solitary f*ck about passive mode when people are using it correctly (that is, to be passive). I only get pissed when people slaughter half the lobby for ten minutes in a Lazer, crash or get shot down, and then go passive immediately. If this concept is too "advanced" for your tiny brain, maybe you should shut off your computer right now and stop talking to grown-ups who are capable of understanding ideas more complex than "PASSIVE MODE GOOD" or "PASSIVE MODE BAD." It can be both. It can be a decent feature that also has problems and needs improvements.

Go passive yourself and you won't be slaughtered or use some basic understanding of where players are to not put yourself in vunerable positions. It's hardly difficult to do in this extremely simple game. I'll use it how I see fit, I suggest you do the same as others clearly do or stick to private sessions.

I use passive mode everytime but i don't get out of it just to kill people, actually i use it because i don't want do kill people too.
