fred.nil
I´ve gor GTa 4 on disc, but its hell to install. If I get it to work it crashes when I patch it. The 2 latest patches doesnt even load and I see that others have that problem. But is the steam version better to install or does it also have installproblems? My problem is that when I start it the screen get black and the discsymbol appears snd then it crashes. I would like to play it again, but its boring with all the problems. I´ve got Windows 7. PhillBellic
I have it on disc, and furthermore, there is no need to install the patches in order. Simply install the latest patch. Finally I have an entire vanilla installation backed up, if in case something goes wrong with my primary installation. NightmanCometh96
As someone who owns both a digital and physical copy of GTA IV, I had a lot of trouble getting the game to install properly when I was using the disc, but I haven't run into any error messages/crashes/etc. with Steam, so try getting that version if you're having problems with the disc. DrDetroit
Steam is the best alternative imho. If you mess up your game modding it, you can do a file integrity check and boom, it will fix your game files. Also Steam auto-updates all the games, so you don't have to mess with it. Good luck!
