Which platform (s) do you play GTA IV on?

Recommended Posts

I'm curious because often it feels like I'm one of the few GTA IV console players.

I have a pre-owned copy on 360 and the Complete Edition on PS3. Despite getting it on PS3 at launch (I had another PS3 copy) I prefer the 360 version. Looks a little better and seems to run smoother too.

i wish i had a PC, just for the mods.

After seeing some of those ENB mods I maybe need to look into PC gaming. I wouldn't even know where to start. Out of the console versions I think 360 has the advantage when it comes to IV. If they ever bring it to PS4 hopefully they fix the issues that plagued the PS3 version.

PS3. The controls feel better to me than they do than 360 or PC would. Of course, I've only played about an hour of it on PC (mostly because my laptop can hardly run it and I couldn't save because of GFWL) or any of it at all on 360.

I still have my old 360 copy that I bought with a brand new console back in 2008 (let's see if Rockstar make me buy a new console this time around too, now that Ubisoft failed to accomplish that with Unity). I also have two copies of EfLC, also for 360. One, bought at launch, that doesn't work anymore because of scratching accident and another pre-owned.

On PC nowadays to screw around and play with mods, but my Xbox 360 copy is the one that holds all the memories for me. I still have my 360 but by the time of RDR I had switched to PS3 though, but I don't own GTA IV for it.

Ps3 here, via HDMI cable and in 720p. I tried 1080p but it makes the buildings look all blurry.

The PS3 version runs in sub-720p upscaled to 720p so it already looks blurred out. So no wonder upscaling it further by the console to 1080p makes it even messier.

I own the game on all 3 consoles though I'm mostly active on the PS3 and PC versions of the game simply because I know plenty of more folks on there... plus PC has those mods that can't keep me away from it for more than a week.

PC, although I spend more time creating stuff and dicking around with values than playing it. I'm overly protective of mods so I don't release them, but what enhances the game considerably for me, is periodically creating new billboards and such to give a sense of time passing. Makes the world that much more believable and keeps things feeling up to date.

PS3, in fact all GTA games i played it on PS systems

You have a good taste brother

Whoever said Xbox 360 is the best version for playing GTA IV is clearly disillusioned. I guess it just depends on your preference. I always thought GTA IV on Xbox 360 was far too bright, meanwhile on PS3 it was a little bit darker but mixed with a little bit of light. Then again I may be another fanboy asshole  PS3 is my church, PS4 is my religion

PS3, Used.

The box is normal but the disc has the Platium logos on it, strange.

probably because you purchased it used? stopped buy used games ages, got tired of getting cracked discs, missing manuals, scratched dics, empty cases, wrong discs etc.

PC and PS3.

Physical version PC of IV and EfLC on PC, but I also have it on steam.

Complete Edition on PS3, but I also recently got the US version of GTA IV Special Edition.

Hopefully, I'll get an XBOX 360 one day.

And I admit IV looks a bit nicer on X360 than PS3.

And, I've been playing GTA IV on my sh*tty PC since 2010, once I got it on PS3 on September 2013 I was happy to finally play GTA IV without lag or stutter, but once I got a high-end PC, playing IV on maxed out settings felt like "HOLY sh*t!!!". The console version is still pretty cool.

I prefer the open suits on consoles, first thing I did when I unlocked Algonquin was rush to buy one in Perseus.
