Spider-Vice
GTAV for PC also includes the new Rockstar Editor, which gives players a full suite of editing tools to create and publish gameplay clips direct to both Social Club and YouTube. It seems that the new video editor will be called Rockstar Editor instead of the normal "GTA video editor" like in IV. This is actually making me a bit curious, I do wonder if it's a standalone app of some sort to render and edit your videos or something extremely advanced that may be used in future games. I seriously can't wait to see what it actually is, because the name sounds quite special. Discuss. El Dorado
I bet it's the reason of the extra 15GB of disk space, since PS4XB1 asks for 50GB. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/761573-the-rockstar-editor/#findComment-1066826305 Share on other sites

theNGclan
Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't have that big annoying watermark right in the corner. It's Rockstar we're talking about here. It'll be easy to remove it anyway. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/761573-the-rockstar-editor/#findComment-1066826329 Share on other sites
Guest
If it's like the one that's build-on on the consoles it'll be really useful, having the possibility to record the last X minutes of gameplay without any additional tools, edit it, and upload it for easy sharing., that's what we could do on GTA IV, so it's going to be similar to that. Alvarez
For shame, it's not a Workshop or similar. Just a video suite. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/761573-the-rockstar-editor/#findComment-1066826541 Share on other sites

Yeah, the fancy name could mean we'll get the same video editor tool they use for promotional videos with more functions and options than IV's. REDDICE
I bet it's the reason of the extra 15GB of disk space, since PS4XB1 asks for 50GB. Bigger download since it contains higher res textures and more geometry and include future dlc Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/761573-the-rockstar-editor/#findComment-1066826824 Share on other sites

Johan
Whatever it is, I hope it doesn't have that big annoying watermark right in the corner. True, though there was a work around to that on IV.. just simply record your finished clip (after it's all edited) and so on. I'm really pumped to see how it'll be in this game, I remember pressing F2 millions of times throughout my time in IV. Spider-Vice
whatever it is i'm hoping that it's going to use webm rather than the dated wmv encoder iv used Did they use CUDA in IV for rendering or was it purely CPU bound? I seem to remember renders were faster on Nvidia cards. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/761573-the-rockstar-editor/#findComment-1066828628 Share on other sites

SkapeGote
I am not artistic enough for this. I do a series of videos about a potato named Eric who lives with me, but thats it. A video editor is of no priority for me, but man do i love to watch other people create things. Actually, when the game comes out, I want to me in somebodys funny moments videos. Keep me in mind. MulleDK19
"Rockstar Editor" makes it sound external, and like it's something they expect in all future games. "Full suite of editing tools" makes it sound like more than just a clip editor, and more than 2 (or 3) tools.
