GTX970 GPU and GTA V

Recommended Posts

Nobody in any thread can answer that for you. I've got a 970 as well and I'm worried my brand new FX-8350 4.0GHz processor may be a bottleneck already if I try to play at 1080p on ultra.

We'll just have to see how sh*tty this sh*t port is really going to be. But by the time the game rolls around, we'll have all forgot about this and we'll all be different people. Who cares.

xD

Lock it up, mods.

-Not thread worthy

-No specific specs

I'm sure the mods can make up their own minds.

As Fockstrot says, there are not certainties until the game is released. The best indication you'll get is from looking at test results on existing titles.

This suggests you'd get more than 60fps on Bioshock but more like 55 on Battlefield. It depends on how well optimised GTA V will be, but also whether you want to max out all other settings - shadows, traffic density etc, assuming similar slider options to GTA IV. My hunch is it won't run 60FPS with everything maxed at that resolution, but you'd probably get somewhere in the 30-50 range. That's just a hunch though. Obviously your other hardware specs will matter too.

Yes you can run 1440p 60fps at ultra settings. Just don't go too high with anti aliasing, but you can usually get 2x or 4x msaa. Also, if you overclock it with msi afterburner, you can easily get another 7 fps, usually keeping you above 60fps in all games apart from something like crysis 3. This game will be a lot easier to run though, probably easier than battlefield 4, so don't worry at all.
