Amd Or Nvidia optimized?

Recommended Posts

GTAV for PC pushes Los Santos and Blaine County to even greater levels of detail, running at 1080p and 60fps with up to 4K resolution and support for up to triple monitor configurations, as well as NVidia 3D Vision for up to triple monitor setups.

Probably more towards nVidia, but the specs look like it wont matter.

Well recently UBI soft games were total BS for amd users so....

Which one specifically?

Far Cry 4 for example is extremely mixed depending on mid or high end models

We also found that some AMD GPUs are even superior to Kepler GPUs. For example the AMD Radeon R9 280X and R9 270X performed a lot better than we had anticipated. Both GPUs beat the NVIDIA competition in this game. However, the opposite is true for the R9 290 and R9 290X. Those two GPUs cannot at all keep up with NVIDIA GTX 970 and GTX 980 in Far Cry 4. These are underpowered in this game and are beaten squarely in the face by the GTX 980 and GTX 970.

WD was equal on both

In terms of performance we were surprised how close the R9 290X and GTX 780 Ti are. There has been a lot of FUD around the internet about AMD potentially lacking in performance compared to NVIDIA.

Though they are biased towards Nvidia, with Crossfire support in Far Cry 4 broken and no HBAO+ for AMD in The Crew, but it is not entirely bad, as you say it is.

Russian Mafia

was there any mention about SLI support for the game????

Yes game already have SLI profile in Nvidia drivers. Its the same profile as Asassin creed black flag, so you can try it and check how many % of perfomance you can add from your second card.

I read somewhere that gta v pc screens are suggesting that game is nvidia optimized. Is that true? If yes how will it run on 280x?

The recommend GPU is an HD 7870 which is equivalent to an R9 270x. It should run just fine. Plus it didn't say that it was specifically only optimized for nvidia cards it just mentioned that you can use an nvidia software for triple monitors

You can pretty much only play 4K 60fps triple monitors with cards in sli/crossfire

I think the game is an Nvidia Powered because Nvidia was the first who's speaking about GTA V one year ago.

GTA IV was a Nvidia Powered game also, i haven't any doubt for this one.

Don't forget about SA.

San Andreas Showed the nvidia "the way its ment to be played" logo when loading the game so i guess it also preferd nvidia a bit.

60 FPS on a Surround / Eyefinity system with three 4K monitors?

Yeah, that's not going to be possible on anything at all. 4K with 60FPS will require some serious hardware by itself.

Yeah true. R* prefer Nvidia guys, but it don't mean Ati/amd will run bad

Not entirely sure how screens could suggest optimization either way? Hopefully R* are staying as far away from nvidias gameworks program as possible. Either way it will be optimized to run on either brand, but how well the game will run at launch remains to be seen. There are many "nvidia the way its meant to be played" games that I have run flawless on my AMD machine as to where nvidia users experienced problems, and vice versa. Its a crap shoot either way.

Again you are safe with either card the only difference will be on which card in the series you have.

R* doesn't "prefer" either brand, they just don't mind it when Nvidia pays them money to put their logos over the game box and splash screens. In reality there will most likely be an extremely negligible performance difference between equivalent GPU's from both brands.

It should run on both because its DX. Does AMD have an equivalent program like nvidias "meant to be played"?

AMD has "Gaming Evolved" which is more or less the same thing.
