Dock
"software installations required including Rockstar Games Social Club platform, DirectX, Chromium, and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 sp1 Redistributable Package" Taken straight off the blurb at the very bottom of the PC post. I'm curious as to what "Chromium" is. A Google search only turned up the source code Google Chrome is based on, and the uh, element Cr. DRM maybe? I don't know, I'm just trying to start a proper discussion away from the delay because there isn't jack sh*t we can do about that Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/761296-whats-chromium/ Share on other sites

Crystal3lf
I'm guessing some sort of app that they might use for RSSC on Google Chrome, who knows, it's mostly just legal stuff the Rockstar have to put there. NTAuthority
the social club overlay probably switched from the dated berkelium library to libcef, the chromium embedded framework! utack
The chromium project also has a version of WebKit in it, which for example is used in Android to display Web Pages in apps (quite often, you just don't notice it always). It makes sense that they might want to use it in some way. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/761296-whats-chromium/#findComment-1066818133 Share on other sites
Barrett_killz
They might implement a Social Club in-game-web-browser using that Chromium project, maybe an agreement between R* and Google, I believe no one knows yet. Trash_Ok
What about the DRM at the end? Is it because of steam or is it a true DRM everyone fears ? Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/761296-whats-chromium/#findComment-1066818177 Share on other sites
Barrett_killz
What about the DRM at the end? Is it because of steam or is it a true DRM everyone fears ? Steamworks most likely, RGSC - only for activation, just like MP3.
