Argonaut
From Jalopnik; "Here's what you need to know: it has a 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 (yes, seriously) with more than 600 horsepower. The twin-turbo mill is mounted amidships and mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox nestled inside a carbon fiber tub. Aluminum subframes are mounted at each end and wrapped in carbon fiber body panels, and Ford promises it will "exhibit one of the best power-to-weight ratios of any production car." Fully-active aerodynamics and an actuated rear spoiler improve braking and downforce. The rolling stock is made up for 20-inch wheels wrapped in custom Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 tires framing carbon ceramic brakes. The driver seat is fixed, with the F1-style steering wheel and pedals moving to fit the driver. The steering column is "stalkless" so there's nothing between your hands and the paddle shifters, and the dash is completely digital and fully configurable with multiple driving modes. As a reminder, the original Ford GT40 wasn't just another endurance racer. Sporting iconic looks and a mighty V8 engine, it emerged victorious in Ford's bitter Le Mans battle against Ferrari, one of the greatest David vs. Goliath stories in all of motorsports. The Ford resurrected it a decade ago with a limited edition, street-legal supercar with the performance to match the best Europe had to offer. It was an amazing machine that remains highly respected and coveted today. Now there's this. An even more modern interpretation that's not only going to race, but Ford says it into production next year. NEXT YEAR." Images: In my opinion I find this to look too much like a Tesla, plus power hasn't really stepped up from the last generation of Supercars. Yes, it may look all new and fresh, and you can push your fancy Twin Turbo Ecoboost system, but if the last gen can outperform it then what's the point. My opinion anyway, it hasn't even been tested yet so I can't really judge. I honestly don't care about the mpg/ecology of the car, but if the performance is right, then who cares? Just like the hybrid supercars, they may be hybrids, but they're still all about performance. It's funny that people will complain about a 600hp car simply because it's more efficient. Edited January 12, 2015 by *MURDOC* epoxi

epoxi
The aesthetics are near perfect, probably the best-looking supercar on the market in my opinion. It doesn't try to look like the previous GTs, but at the same time it doesn't carry all the hallmarks of a 'mid-2010s car'...it's a pretty timeless design. The rear end is simply awesome, I love the afterburner rear lights and exhaust, and it's interesting how the smaller engine means half the body is empty space. Fraizer
Oooooo! I like it. I bet jermemy clarkson gets one so he can have both the new and old one. One of the gripes he had about the old one was the fuel economy. I think it looks more like a Fisker to be honest. But that's probably because the lead designer that used to work at Fisker now works at Ford. You can see a lot of that reflected in all the ford cars now. *MURDOC*
I don't see the hideous Fisker in this at all oddly enough. Thank god for that.

Fraizer
[email protected] unique. Well I haven't seen that many lines on a car without looking gaudy as hell but on this car it works and it flows. Just seems unique to me. El Dildo
V6 twin-turbos are definitely a sign of the times. I can't find anything to complain about this redesign. it's absolutely beautiful. they managed to keep true to the posture and demeanor of the original GT while updating the entire frame with modern lines and cuts. and they really hit the design out of the park, wow. I f*cking love that exhaust and engine bay. epoxi
sivispacem
I like it a lot, but there's definitely a bit of Huracan and MP4 in the styling. Bit of Lotus in the front end too. Details like the exhausts, lights and aero around the rear hatch are particularly nice. Does a much better job of disguising its active aero than recent Ferrari offerings. I wonder if Ford wouldn't mind jumping into F1 with the Ecoboost name.. Ford might go to Le Mans instead of F1 and replicate their success from 50 years ago. But I'd love them to be in F1 again, not only as an engine supplier, but as a factory team like Mercedes and Ferrari. I like it a lot, but there's definitely a bit of Huracan and MP4 in the styling. Look at F1 now, they opted for a turbocharged V6 Hybrid instead of them staying with the decent V8, but still I like the V6 Turbo's mainly because they offer more challenge than the V8's due to their high amount of torque and they are faster at long straights like at Monza, which they move at a top speed of 360 km/h. Also, look at Bahrain this year, gave us one of the best races in modern F1 history.

GN 92
I'm not into that efficiency talk. But all the companies are doing that now, and I guess people like me gotta get used to it. I'm still mad at BMW for downgrading the V8s and V10s to biturbo 6 cylinders and V8s. The 2006 M5 exhaust sound is the reason for my way of thinking. Here's why: Edited January 16, 2015 by BOSS
