I told someone earlier that he's more suited to COD, and it's true. It wasn't a whine about needing passive because I'm a pussy who begs not be killed. It's because the guy I was responding to said that anyone who likes passive mode basically wants all violence removed from the game so it's like the Sims.

I am not being naive. You're wrong. You're clearly upset by it and are exaggerating what happens. If you could stop doing that and be honest and open about what really goes on then you may have a valid argument for change. I do not play in passive all the time - not even close. If I choose at any time not to be involved in any altercations with other players then I enable passive mode and go about my business. Then at some point of my choosing I will disable passive mode. That has nothing to do with trying to use passive to get one over on any other players.

 

The vast majority of the time I am online I am not in passive mode. I have *never* had a player kill me and then go passive, unless it's turned into a bit of a battle and they wanted to stop for whatever reason.

 

Again, you are making things up which totally invalidate anything you have to say.

I like it the way it is. Yesterday I lost my fully modded mustle car after returning from LSC because I forgot to buy insurance (it was 4am realtime). I was just cruising with my homies when some stupid mofo send homming missiles after me and my bros. I've spend almost 60.000 on that car. And yeah I know it is a little my fault too, but I did nothing violent. We were just having fun driving arround..

 

And that's what always happens when you try to have fun without shooting others. A mofo comes arround a put some pointless bullets in you while were trying some cool stunts with your Bati in a public session.

 

And no! I don't want it to be like sims. But I want to have fun the adult and creative way. Not the dumb "I cheated 20billion with the horn glitch and will now homming missile/prox. mine everything" way. Because I dont cheat and Im saving my money since weeks (1.4M so far) and don't want to lose it because of you and your annoying sh*t.

And there lies the perfect reason for having the new passive mode. That would have solved everything for you.

 

In fact, one of the main reasons I use passive mode is when I find a new stunt spot that I want to hit repeatedly until I get it just right (and then probably do it some more as well ). Going passive has no negative effect whatsoever, so if you want to do something like that then use passive.

Welp I don't know why I decided to read and catch up on this thread but I did. My IQ has lowered even more now. Not sure how I am able to type this out and make it legible.

 

First of all I want to say that because of people like titus001 you have made it so I do play invite only sessions. It is because of people like you that I can not play a game I bought the way I want to. The only way for me to meet people with similar interests that I have is via the forums. There is a vast player base out there that are not on these forums that I will never get to meet because I am to afraid to go into a public session because of people like you. Yes I find passive mode broken just as much as you. This is why we should have lobby options similar to gta iv. So that way people that just want to battle it out in free roam can(not sure what the point of death matches are for you) and people like me that just want to actually have fun and do other things that the game offers in free roam.

 

Look at ps3/360 passive mode which is what I am on. This passive mode is pretty much worthless. I still die while being in any vehicle, I get killed by the water gun on the fire truck, I get killed by the tank turret being swung at me, I get ran over by cars, and I get killed by helicopter blades. Now for passive mode on the xbox one/ps4 I am not personally familiar with it but seems that it is 10x better. It isn't perfect but it is better. As many have said if we could have lobby options similar to gta iv things would be better.

 

In the mean time yes I will stick to my invite only to play the game I paid my hard earned money for and not play the game like I want because so many people like you have dictated how I should play it because of being complete arse holes to someone that was not ever bothering you in any way other than not playing the game to your standards. Hopefully by me playing missions and stuff I do not get sent into free roam. heaven forbid if I do because I will be bothering you because I am not playing the game to your standards.

I would rather see the passive mode gone than have it stay as it is, both current and last gen types.

 

But passive mode as it is intended to be is actually a good thing. It's good to have an option where you can decide to go afk when you need to use the bathroom or just go stunting a bit with your new car and still staying in the same session, instead of having to start a solo session just for 5 minutes of solo fun.

The only problem with passive mode is that it is being abused on a regular base.

So instead of scratching the passive mode, look at where it's abused and how to counter that.

 

1. People getting HPV's crates etc. in passive mode.

solution: Can't partake in any freeroam multiplayer activities whilst in passive mode.

 

2. People gunning you down and instantly going passive.

solution: A 1 minute cooldown period after getting a pk

 

3. People in passive getting in your face in the middle of a battle and dropping passive to quickly gun you down.

solution: Counter made visible above someone's head, or make the blip on the map blue, or both.

 

 

Just add these things, and passive mode will simply be 'passive mode' instead of the 'pussy mode' it is now mostly.

Passive noobs should be automaticaly redirected to an Invite Only session as soon as they press "Passive mode".

 

 

EDIT: Or a Passive Mode Only Session, so they can join other passive noobs and explore the map and do all that gay stuff they keep complaining that they cannot do in a public session.

You can't run over people, you can't shoot them in/on vehicles, they can't shoot out of vehicles, they can't cargobob, they can't use weapons in jets or helicpters, they can't use the fire hose (which they are also impervious to).

 

It's everything it should have been in the first place. The only gripe people are having is that someone can kill them and then go passive, which they always could anyway. It's just that now there is (almost) *nothing* you can do to "get your own back".

 

This thread is about bruised egos - not how sh*t passive mode now is, because it isn't.

I agree but i have nothing against those "noobs" that are passive mode to "explore" stuff and take it easy. But i hate those who attacks and starts war then gets owned and goes passive mode and sneaking like like lil bitches, Goes off passive and kills behind your back or just annoys follows you maybe sends something in phone.

 

I love a good clean fight tho. Someone maybe surrender and goes passive mode and sends "Good fight that was fun" or something (Even if i dont thought it was all the time Lol) And then drives away and get the f*ck out of my faces. The annoying lil bitches allwas stay and creep on you.
