You shouldn't be able to move in Passive Mode

Recommended Posts

Hello. You shouldn't be able to move in Passive Mode. Passive move has become a strategical weapon for noobs, An example: a noob switch to passive mode, goes for a tank. There is no way to prevent this noob from taking a tank. Passive mode should be for people who need to go to WC or go to drink something etc. You might say that passive mode is useful for people who just explore the world, those people should join to only invite session, not public.

Nah, that's not what passive mode should be used for. Obviously. But I agree there are certain things you shouldn't be able to enter while in passive mode, or enable passive mode while therein. Tanks, jets, hpvs, the immediate proximity of a crate drop, etc.

Yeah i know what Passive mode was made for. For example to complete ammunition in Ammunation or buy some clothes. But generally it isn't working. If you want to buy something just go to only one person session, do what you need to buy then go back to public session.

some people have no issue in getting involved in freeroam wars yet have friends that want to do the same...why SHOULD people HAVE to start an invite only session just to avoid being griefed by some dick?

they should seriously tweak the dot colour system imho...how can a white dot be such a dick?

and also if someone has the reddest dot there is they shouldn't be allowed to go passive

Unnecessary. My suggestion is leaps and bounds better than yours because it addresses your concerns and doesn't require the added step of switching sessions.

Imagine yourself that you are shooting with some player. This player suddenly switch to passive mode and goes for a tank! Isn't it annoying and ridiculous?

Yes, and again, your nuclear option is far too much. Simply disallowing the entering or usage of passive mode in certain zones/vehicles would address that. The statue idea is stupid and swings the pendulum too far.

IMO, passive mode should just kick you out of Online and back to single-player. And then crash the game. And brick your console. And enlist you in the army - no chickening out from armed combat, no exceptions! :miranda:

Smasherton hit it out of the park with that one.

Also, OP should take the bloodlust to a PvP game mode. Free roam shouldn't be a constant deathmatch.

yeah, it shouldnt be a constant deathmatch. But Rockstar shouldn't impose anything or give noobs a possibility to go for a tank in passive mode.

They impose the entire game though?

No. YOU go to invite only if you don't like it.

No, i want to play in public. i don't mind people going for a tank, but not in passive mode!! I just want fair gunfight without any ridiculous simplifications.

Actually i came up with an idea. There should be a seperate session for people that want to kill one another and for people who don't. And you shouldn't be able to move in passive mode.

Listen, I'm a free roam pvper. I share some of ops concerns. But his suggestion is bad and he should feel bad.

Essentially he's requesting that instead of passive mode, players should have to unplug their consoles and smash them on their significant other's heads. It is a solution, it's just a stupid and poorly thought out one.

Then don't fight them!!! Jesus, stop crying, just go passive yourself. Go somewhere else since tanks aren't f*cking sports cars, and pick a fight with other people!

I don't want to be a pussy that runs away to another session. Maybe you would behave likie this, but not me. I am not crying. I just make good desigin decission that weren't made under development the game.

Why should I have to go to an invite only session if I want to explore? Maybe I want to explore the world and see what other players are doing without getting blown to smithereens. Sure, passive could deactivate if you enter a Lazer, Tank, Buzzard, (or better yet, disable the weapon systems. I bet no one thought of that slice of fried gold!) Simeon vehicle or get within the boundary of a crate drop, but limiting player movement? That's just plain stupid and goes against the freedom the game gives players.
