A list of popular/rare Personal Vehicles (PS3)

This topic is NOT ABOUT SPAWNING NPC VEHICLES,not about spacedockers,towtrucks,modded Roosevelt etc.

It is about how common ,popular or underrated each obtainable car is.The difference between a car used everyday in freeroam,or just a collector's item to look at in the Garage.

I play this game because of the cars,and i like to collect them.I like hard-to-get cars,and i like to make my cars look unique.I've seen hundreds of garages,and in freeroam i like to observe other's people taste and choice of cars.

Its a PS3 Topic,so i dont care about Dukes etc.,dont start pls.Also i didnt list motorcycles i dont care about them.If i write 'rare' it means a very few people drive it,not the spawn rate or circumstances to obtain it.

There are many topics about your rarest vehicle or which vehicle is unique, as my intentions with this topic are different,pls dont flame that it was posted before.

I list all cars, and comment it shortly, it is MY opinion and my experience,you don't have to agree,but i'm very interested in your observations,so tell me please

if you see a specific car more often.

 

Lets start with SUPERS

 

- The ZENTORNO is no doubt,one of the most bought/used/popular PV, after the DLC it immadiately replaced the Adder in that rank.High speed,good handling and protection,nuff said. Troll richkids with Chrome+dollarrims did to it the same as to the Adder.Its also one of the most hated car.

-The ADDER was at the beginning the most sought car,i still have mine in both garages,its still very popular but used less often in Freeroam

-The ENTITY XF was the Nr.2 choice after the Adder,its quite common, but i rarely see it .It's my favourite car

-The CHEETAH. Most of us bought it,a few of us kept it.Seen seldom in freeroam, as we had to choose which supercar,we went with the Adder,later Zentorno

-The BULLET. At the beginnings quite popular,but as it lacks performance its more of a dustcatcher in some garages

-The VACCA- It was popular as a daily driver,and it's still seen as PV,tho not that often

-The INFERNUS- We loved it,and it has a strong fan-base. Still,compared to the Zentorno or Turismo,its a rare sight on the streets

The TURISMO R- very popular,in my opinion DLC vehicles flood the streets after they are available,and then disappear as fast. The only exceptions are Turismo and Zen

The VOLTIC- Seen it like 4 times as PV,it has a small fanbase,sadly very underrated.

 

the COMPACTS -one of the least popular category,people often have only 1 of this class to race

-The BLISTA- seen a few times in garages,but quite rare.Was the 1.choice in the compact raceclass

-The ISSI- the most popular until the Panto appeared. I see it sometimes in garages

-The PANTO. like all DLC's it became quite popular,especially as it was used for various glitches,most ppl have/had one (except me i guess lol)

-The DILETTANTE is extremely rare, seen it two times as trollmobile,

-The PRAIRE is also vey rare,seen it also only two times,looked pretty cool upgraded and in neon green Crew Color.Still it,s crap

-The RHAPSODY- as its heavily overpriced, not as many people bought it as they sought it i think.

 

the COUPES- found in garages ,rarely driven daily as PV

-COGNOSCENTI CABRIO- seen it rarely,in freeroam only a few times,some garages hide it

-EXEMPLAR- quite popular,the fastest and maybe best 4-door

-f620 OCELOT- pretty rare,i think people rather sell or import it

- FELON and FELON GT- not too popular,but i regulary see some,especially the 4-door

-JACKAL- not that common,people prefer other 4door cars like the Oracle2

-ORACLE XS - very rare compared to the 2.version.I think ist because of the lack of modifications,and that i'st everything but nimble and responsive

-ORACLE 2 - quite common,most of us have/had it, also one of the most stolen car among the Ballers to sell for quick $

-SENTINEL and XS - were popular because quite hard to find cars,see them sometimes as PV

-ZION and ZION CABRIO - they appear sometimes,not too common

 

MUSCLE- quite popular category,some ppl collect them all,most of us have at least 2-3 muscles in the Garage.Especially players under Level 50 have them,as they are more affordable.

-BLADE . see above,DLC=popular.Many ppl sold them later

-BUCCANEER- at the very beginnings quite common,now i see a very few of them .a pity

-DOMINATOR- Was/is/will be quite popular,but not as daily driver

-GAUNTLET- compared to the Dom,its rare. I see one like once in a month.

-HOTKNIFE- on ps3 obviously rare,after you can't store it anymore unless u have CE. Next Gen gives them out,reducing its value.If i'd buy the expensive CE,i would be pissed now

-PHOENIX- quite popular,but once again,more of a collector's car as a driver's

-PICADOR- not too common,only if ur into classic cars

-SLAMVAN- quite popular( ofc,DLC)

-RAT-LOADER- was one of the most sought car ,it was quite hard to find spawning. Now you can buy it ,and the popularity dropped rapidly.Shares the destiny of the TAILGATER and the ASEA..Noone drives them anymore.

.RAT-TRUCK- not too many ppl bought it yet.Wtf is going on (DLC,but boring?)

-RUINER- quite rare, unless u like KITT its a rubbish car. I have a KARR

-SABRE TURBO- i'd say its decently popular. Great modifications,cool sound.And crap handling.I like it tho

-VOODOO- a few ppl have it,it spawns rarely. A star at lowrider-meets but thats it

-VIGERO- like the Bucaneer,its seen rarely as PV.

 

OFFROAD- a must have for everyone,at least 1 hillclimber

-BIFTA- very popular after the DLC, even now its a common PV,even driven daily

-BODHI- Almost exclusively imported from SP with Mr.Raspberry Jam. Rare

-DUBSTA- very rare,almost noone has it,not like the DUBSTA 2(blacked out), which was also one of the most SP2MP'ed cars .On NextGen it spawns,it will reduce its value for collectors of rare cars to Zero.The DUBSTA 6x6 is also very popular,in case you are Level100+

-DUNE BUGGY- very rare,if you see one,its modded/edited with custom tires or panel-less

-BF INJECTION- seen it only twice in garages

-DUNELOADER- pretty rare,seen it a few times driven, i was happy as i had one for a year.

-KALAHARI- As a DLC very popular,the roofless vesion was very sought after ,now noone cares anymore

-MESA -never seen it as PV tbh,and only ONCE in a garage.unlike the MERRYWEATHER MESA which is quite popular

-RANCHER XL- very rare,seen it twice,some hardcore offroader appreciate it

-CLEAN REBEL and REBEL- after they appeared on the internet site to buy,noone cares about them anymore. Many money/dupe glitches needed the rusty rebel,as its the cheapest insured car,so its probably one of the MOST BOUGHT car.

-SANDKING XL and SWB. The XL is much more popular,fun to go offroad with,in the City its more a deathtrap.I think most of us have/had one

 

-SEDANS-

-ASEA- it was hard to obtain as you had to start the game with it.I did that sh*t twice. And *poof* now u can buy it. So ,like almost everyone,i sold it.I didn't see one since then. Pretty much the same about the TAILGATER. Rockstar did it by purpose.One of the sh*ttier decisions

-FUGITIVE,EMPEROR,SURGE,WASHINGTON,PRIMO,and PREMIER- i've seen these cars only 3 or 4 times as a personal vehicle,so they seem to be quite rare/unpopular/poop/boring choose one

-The ASTEROPE - i seen it ONCE lol.It deserves a tribute, it saved our asses many times (in freeroam among with Habaneros,Staniers,Rodiuses,as u had to jack a car quickly) .

-the INTRUDER and STRATUM are not common,but they have a solid fan-base, stancers love em

-The REGINA is poop, but somehow cute. Chilled ppl have some. Agressive kids should make a round around the whole map riding one.

-the STANIER isn't common as PV,but some ppl have taxi or undercover-cop replicas( like i do)

-SUPER DIAMOND- was pretty popular,now i see them rarely. The typical SD wields dollar-rims. Sad.

-SHAFTER -quite popular, among the ORACLE2 and EXEMPLAR probably one of the most driven 4-door

-INGOT - never seen one myself, seen on the forums once a pic of an Ingot in a Garage

-WARRANER- quite popular(ofc,its DLC) Tuners,drifters, anyone who have a Futo or Sultan will get this too

OP your version of "Rare" gives us a list of the most Butt ugly useless cars in the game. That's why no one drives them, (except Hipsters who drive them just because no one else does)

 

case in point the Aesa, easily obtainable by starting a 2nd character, almost no one bothered.

If you would take the 2minutes and READ the very beginnings - i told that its not about how hard it is to find or obtain it,but how often is it used among other players.What cars do the others use in freeroam?Even the damn title said PERSONAL VEHICLES.You know,that what you need to insure or order,parked in things which we call garages?

Edit- i agree with most of what you say, but rarity willl depend upon your experiences in the game, for example i see vaccas everywhere. chrome vaccas everywhere it's horrendous and i've never seen anyone else with a super diamond (shame - i love them so much i have two)

 

Edit2- considering you're open to opinions, I think the gauntlet and dominator are the most popular muscle cars and the cognoscenti cabrio is definitely a car that you should buy if you don;t want to see another version of your car. One of my friends has it, that's all i've seen of it online. Off-Road, anything apart from sandkings are rare because supers off-road better (which sucks) ...I have several off-roaders though!

 

You didn't do utility class and didn't write anything for tailgater either

Thanks for the first replay where the person read the text.

I didn't forget,i been at work and couldn't type more. We miss Sports,Sports Classics,Vans,and SUVS.Maybe i do them tomorrow,but everyone can feel free to post his own list. Utility :we do not care, as there isn't an option to use em as PV.

 

Yes,i agree on the Cognoscenti Cabrio,i seen only 4-5 garages with it. I mentioned the tailgater as i described the Rat-loader & Asea. It was very popular,everyone hunted for it or imported from SP.I found one after 4 months!! At the golf club. As you could buy it,almost everyone get rid of it(like i did too). Same with Franklins Buffalo mk2,Asea ,Trevor's Bodhi with Raspberry Jam ,Trevor's Blazer,roofless Kalahari or other cars which could only been obtainable with glitching.If everyone can buy it,the car loses its value ,if you are a real collector. If RGB colors or options of the Save-Editor would be enabled in LSC,no car would be unique anymore.The most SP2Mp'ed car was th Buffalo2,worth 150k or so. The Dubsta2 too,i have it for both of my characters.On NextGen noone will care about the Dubsta2,Hotknife,Carbon or Khamelion.If the next Valentine's day update brings back the Roosevelt,i will sell mine too.

I dunno...because of the limited time, the roosevelt is rare, and cognoscenti is rare to see online...some of the crappier bikes are also rare, as is the same with the voltic (having a low top-speed) (I think OP is generally describing PVs where you guys assume NPC vehicle spawns? That may be the confusion?)

YES thank you! Exactly,i mean PV's and how often ppl buy/use/keep them and NOT spawns.

Thank you for your opinion,completely agreed. Never seen a Nemesis in freeroam,only in garages,some ppl have a 10car-garage with ALL bikes inside,pretty cool.But as i dont care much about bikes, bike-fans are welcome to post their experiences about the popularity of bike-types.

I will add Sports,Sports Classics,SUV and Van if i have time

THESE AREN'T RARE! LOL, I'm just kidding. What I consider rare are vehicles I rarely see spawn for myself. Like the Sultan RS. Some think the Imponte Phenoix is rare, but I see it spawn all of the time. But hey we all have our different definitions for rare cars in GTA Online.

Thanks for the post Malibu454! reminder: we don't care about if the car spawns alot or not,we don't care about the Sultan or phoenix,UNLESS someone drives it as a Personal Vehicle,possibly modded. Soooo,many supercars,right,mostly Zentornos,sometimes Turismo R or Adders .What else do you see?

It's a shame most players drive the same cars, I only drive now my classics like the Monroe and the Stinger because you don 't see them too often and they are damn fun to drive! Most players don't dare to drive something else then supers, the zentorno is no doubt the most seen PV!

As a personal vehicle? Modded? in Crew colors etc.? A Voltic,or Praire? A Dilettante,Asterope or Ingot? Good for you,coz i see these really once a year.

i must say; one car i'd like to see online more is the declasse premier...i think it looks awesome (although personally i don't have one - i'm waiting to see if there are any DLC cars this/next month worth buying). Funny thing, I reckon this car may be the rarest even though micheal has it for ages in SP - i drove one around and someone messaged me asking if i could mod them their own premier in xD They said it was really cool i was making my own car models (I think it's a sedan)

 

Also, as OP said, they'd love to hear everyone's opinions on rarity of PVs to get a good picture of how common cars really are (for example, you would think the sanchez would be super common considering it's the best offroad vehicle in a race with no crashes, yet very very few people have them)

Ok i go on,tho i expected a bit more of this topic,considering the time invested.Only a few commented so far, the 'they aren't rare at all' ppl should spare me in future,read the real goal! P.S as its a lot to read,i try to make it a bit more comfy with spaces

 

SUVS:

-ROCOTO- for some reason quite rare as PV,seen it only a few times ,at the beginnings of GTAO

 

-PATRIOT- same as the Rocoto,seen only a couple times,usually lower lvl players use/used it (probably,just like me back then,thinking its a good vehicle:)

 

-KARIN BEEJAY XL: also not common,if you see one,its probably a modded or SP2MP'ed one with Michael's body sack on the backseat

 

-RADIUS: encounter as PV: two times.While its one of the most common npc vehicles,its obviously crap.I seen it twice,one was impounded and painted red-yellow. a level10guy had it. I was so excited that i took a pic as proof: cute lol

-FATHOM FQ2- NEVER seen as PV yet,tho its also one of the most common crap npc cars and annoying too,if you jack one,you can be sure that fa**ot Simeon wants it,granting you a 2-star

 

-HABANERO- NEVER seen as PV, i pimped one once 4fun as a TrollMobile,but its mediocre performance and worst resistance if crashed limited our unity to a hour

 

-LANDSTALKER- also NEVER seen as PV,somehow its cool tho.It reminds me on the Canyonero of the Simpsons.It still drives horrible,but i remember Vice City days as the slightest turns made it flip

 

-GRANGER- quite common,at least considering the previous vehicles,usually blacked out among undercover-cop-roleplayers

 

-Baller 1 and 2- The newer version is more popular as PV,the Ballers are among the more used PV's. We all 'had ' plenty of them,but how often could you resist the 9000$ and actually keep one?

 

-SEMINOLE- met one single player who had one,due to a bug it wasn't storeable for a while,but the real reason might be: why would you go with a boring,lame car unless you own a jeep cherokee in real life. i like its rims,and thats it

 

-HUNTLEY S- if u read my first post,you know why its the most popular SUV among the Dubsta 6x6

 

-GRESLEY- seen it twice as PV, belonged to a offroader-crew with quite cool ppl with rarely used cars who didn't provoke a war immadiately

-SERRANO- for some reason its pretty rare as PV,seen it a few times,but always blingbling two-toned richkid-rides.A pity

 

-Dubsta 1 and 2- The regular Dubsta is very rare as PV,but the blacked out DUBSTA 2 was one of the most glitched/Sp2MP'ed vehicles,i have one in both of my character's garages. As it spawns on NextGen,i'm sure its popularity will drop rapidly,just like all the other hard-to find cars

 

-DUBSTA 6x6 -very popular ,but only Level100 players can get it and its quite expensive ( there are other ways tho:) ) It's performance and durability, and yes,simply awesomeness explains that

 

-CAVALCADE 1 and 2- seen it like 3 times as PV,its abilities are similar of the Landstalker,so unless you like PimpMyRide with the subwoofer,this car won't enter your garage

SPORTS CLASSICS

 

-COQUETTE CLASSIC- many ppl had it (DLC ,ofc) but i don't see it often anymore.The funny decription of the supercar-site is somewhat true

 

Z-Type- On Singleplayer it costs a whooping 10mill,on GTAO after buying an Adder ,this car was the nonplusultra to tell everyone: i have everything,i'm the KING. Many ppl still have them,but its more of a collector's item. Those who race alot,usually have it,it was like a big fat mole ,sweeping other classics away easily.You see many great pictures in appreciation threads

 

-MONROE- the only rival to the Z-Type in races until the Coquette appeared. People who like Lambo's and collect them( there are plenty),usually bought one next to their Infernus and Vacca. And they been Green,Yellow or Orange. But ok,i understand that,i'm guilty too^^)

 

-MANANA- was very hard to find,so it was a well appreciated addition in any gangster's garage.Now it seem to spawn more often as NPC,and i rarely see it as Personal Vehicle

 

-PEYOTE- decently popular

-TORNADO - among the 3 classic gang cars the Tornado might be the most used,but not the RUSTY version. I seen a few, the regular Tornado is pretty common as PV, but used rarely. On car shows and meets you can see many,Christine or not

 

-JB700- Thank heaven you see it usually as a Bond-replica ( grey-silver or even chrome) , i've seen some trolls too in pink-lime. In my opinion the original Aston is one of the most beautiful cars,,if you are one of the few who own one on GTAO,please treat it with respect:D

 

-PIGALLE- a DLC,decently common,but just lke the Rhapsody,its extremely overpriced. Guys who know cars in real life appreciate the Citroen SM tribute. All the others seem to spend their money elsewhere

 

-STINGER and STINGER GT- quite expensive,these beautiful cars aren't too popular. If you read the first post, i think we all agree that SUPERS populate 90% of the public servers

I drive a lot in my blacked out Felon the last days, never saw another player driving one as a PV, besides the undisputed Sultan probably one of the best looking 4-door cars, not to forget it's great performance and handling, in my opinion. I never get rid of these two bad boys!
