Hey guys,

Here's a bit of advice if you use the kinect on your xboxOne.

The microphone pick up on the kinect is very sensitive and picks up talking and conversation going on in your living room, man cave etc. Be very careful that you are not talking or doing something you dont want others to hear online.

 

I was playing GTA Online last night and was in a public lobby. Someone in the lobby decided to, shall we say, enjoy his girl and forgot to turn off or mute the XboxOne. They had a good time.

 

I wont give you the play by play but I think the final score was a blow out! And no, im not a voyuer. I left the party as soon as I realized what was going on.

The real headache is that it picks up phrases that were not directed at it. I was playing a few nights ago and my kids asked me what I was doing. I said playing Xbox. Next think I know im at the home page of the xboxOne! The phrase is supposed to be "xbox go home" but mine went there by just saying xbox.

only works with 1 voice so doesn't work.Iirc they had to fix it after that aaron paul commercial where he said "xbox on" was turning on people's xboxes. :lol:

I have heard kids get cussed out by their parents, domestic arguments, but never that :lol:

 

 

I just hope i never hear something like this.

 

I actually heard this in Church one time. The music minister had to take a leak and ran to the bathroom during the service. Forgot that his lapel mike was on.

in my 15 years playing online i have heard pretty much everything in the book...

 

people eating doritos, family reunions, parents slappin their kids for cussing, porn through the mic, actual sex, etc etc...

 

the most memorable things were the time i was playing unreal tournament, we are playing, everythings cool then one of the guys in the session got raided by the police.

 

the other time i was playing MLB the Show with this dude and all of the sudden... people screaming, glass breaking, and what sounded like fireworks in the background... this dude lived at the ghetto and his house got sprayed by some gangbangers.

 

never saw him online anymore...

Isn't there a mute or anything of the sort on the Kinect? I never bought one because I hate the mic for it and find it just as easy to use buttons as opposed to voice commands, but I swear every game I go into, I can hear the entire goddamn family and their dog, or an entire daycare screaming.

in kinect options there is an option use kinect for chat. I turn it off. Kinect mic users are so f*cking annoying. Especially with the xbox one. It came with a f*cking headset! !!! Use it for gods sakes you have no excuse for using a kinect mic

In unrelated news, the NSA is going to give a plaque of excellence to Microsoft.

I'll never understand why the NSA think we Gamers are the kind of people who'd bomb some building, NSA what the hell kind of threat does a gamer pose to the U.S? We Not a damn bit of a threat. NSA be like "yeah ISIS blowing s*it up around the world? We'll just spy on gamers, and also we'll spy on the harmless Furries role playing or just talking about the fandom, as that is more important then finding out what ISIS is doing."

Message to people who use the kinect mic.

 

I have a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you turn your mic off now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will kill you, over and over again.....

Because it's not about threats or security...it's about control. And those that hold the most information...wield the most power.
