Best and Worst online communities?

I remember Midnight Club LA and Grand Theft Auto IV had good online communities, except for some mods here and there. The worst are COD and Grand Theft Auto Online.

the problem with GTAO's community is that too much of a huge chunk of it came from CoD.

Yea, I couldn't agree more. MCLA had a great community, people sharing their cars and coming up with interesting vinyls. I remember those funny Skittles vinyls on the Buick GSX.

As for the worst hmm... not to many for me. Apart from GTA Online obviously, I'd say Dead Or Alive 5/Ultimate/Last Round. Always getting at least few angry msgs, "you f*cking cheat", "lagging son of a bitch" etc.

It's even worse on tekken most notably Tekken Revolution they always send messages mad about the loss and claim you did a "cheap" move to win or your just a "juggling bitch" lol I laugh it

Call of Duty when downhill, like badly, MW3 was a paradox, almost nothing in MW3 tied in with MW2, then Ghosts was even worse... At least the Black ops series is ok-ish. Also the 12 year old raging admins are back on Battlefield Hardline, my friend and I got banned from a server for getting Ace Squad/MVP 10 times in a row, some crybaby messaged the Admin of the server and he came in their just to ban us for "Being too good" It's like BF3 all over again...

Eh, don't see how you guys can make a distinct difference between CoD/BF fanbases. Their all the same to me.

 

But on the topic..I think MGS and Final Fantasy fan bases are pretty chill in my experience.

It's the little things that make the difference, however it is getting harder to point out major differences now that the CoD fanbase is jumping from their sinking ship to other games and ruining them as result.

i hated most custom lobbies in BF3

 

mostly because a lot of the time, the owner was a huge hypocrite. "NO JET RAMMING! DONT USE THIS WEAPON OR BAN!"

 

then you'd see like, half of the other team doing exactly what he said not to do- but it's okay, just because they're on his team

 

however, if someone from the other team does it, they're banned in a heartbeat. dont get me wrong, i've had almost no problems with other players on BF, but custom servers almost always seemed to be ran by children.

I don't what it is with most Europeans, but a lot of them think their superior to everyone else, The F.I.A is the most public instance of this, however a lot of Europeans I've met on Xbox live claim that anyone not from Europe is a Hacker, and it's mainly the British that have this better then everyone else view on things, that and the British are some of the biggest s*it talkers I've seen online, seems to run in their blood, however I've met and have a handful of friends from the UK that aren't like most of the assholes I've seen. On-topic: I think every gaming community went down hill half way into MW2's lifespan, doesn't help CoD is now a Sinking ship.

The minute CoD Dies off is the minute that we're f*cking SOL, the only thing keeping the video game industry from snowballing its way towards another crash is the fact CoD is still afloat for now, hell the video game industry is already repeating the same mistakes that killed it the first time in the late 80s and then some.

there are actually some rly nice ppl with good sportsmanship and solid gameplay on MKX PS4 but most of the time it's casuals acting like this

CoD Trickshotting ruined the game for me

I used to have fun with friends but then they all wanted to be 1337 and started trickshotting

every search and destroy turned into noobtubing every player and then switching out to their snipers for a 1337 killcam that would take them forever to get, even when the guy on the other team was in on it and was standing still

they would always run the timer out because they all sucked so I would kill the dude at the last second and they would yell at me because it wasnt a trickshot T_T

Role play communities seem to be the biggest coin toss in the business, GTA role plays seem to go to s*it quickly, however I did do Life RPs on Halo Custom Edition with some old friends back in the day, those where fun, However some of my Friends who are also Furries have informed me that role plays in the fandom aren't really the bees knees (Anyone with half a brain can put 2+2 together and find out why), Role playing in general has gone down hill over the pass few years. Also Why did "t-bagging" become the "cool" thing to do in Any and all FPS games, and can the MLG wannabe assholes please go die in a fire (encountered one on BFH today and he t-bagged everyone he killed, I killed him and knifed him till he left)

While not bad as a whole, when PC gamers get bad, they get BAD. Constant insulting, keyboard warrior antics, and feel the need to constantly tell people how superior PC is and looking down on "console peasants", as if they have to overcompensate for something. Heres the thing: console gamers know....we just dont care. My response to a "PC Master Race" post or "Console Peasants" post is

Well that all depends on the community you're doing it with. Small and dedicated? Should be fine, if everyone's on the same plane of how it should go. Larger with less 'community'? That's breaking quickly. Pretty common with an increasing population base.

 

Also lol, furry roleplay...well, people dedicated enough to go to the lengths of getting a group of people in Second Life and the like seem to do fine, but apart from that it all ends up more or less...the same, shall we say =P

My biggest problem with role play nowadays is it is all Clan S*it, I've been there done that, the Police Clan I was in on MCLA feared me, even the clan leader feared me, as a cop I was the only one who knew what they were doing (so much so I was Chief of Both City and CHP) and has a suspect I was unstoppable, life was good till one day someone asked "what to off duty cops drive" remember I was Chief of police in this clan so I said "any thing you want that isn't a high end sports car" the clan leader yelled " Impalas and Chargers only" about 25 minutes of disagreement later, I was winning the favor of the clan, then the clan leader exiled me from the clan so that he would be the winner of the disagreement, I told him "your clan will die within a day without me" 2 hours later I went to check the Clan Website and got "404". This right here is why role plays are such a coin toss, most of it is done via clans now.

I think the Fallout community is one of the worst ones out there since the fanbase is split so hard. Like on NMA they're still complaining about F3. Fair enough the game has a myriad of problems, but they'll still acting as if it were yesterday, as if 7-8 years haven't happened. They act as if it's still the end of the world even though New Vegas and Wasteland 2 has come along and brought out pretty much two games they've been waiting for since the nineties. Someone even noted that they were beating a dead horse and they got this response:

 

For me, beating the Fallout 3 horse will never get old as long as there are still people out there who consider it better to New Vegas.

 

I guess if you in your opinion liked F3 more than NV, then you're wrong. I understand if having your game series change so radically would probably suck "COUGHGTAOCOUGH" but I think hating on someone for liking said installment compared to a "truer" installment is just harsh. The fact they even have a "pro-F3" moderator is a miracle.
