Heists' future in GTA series

I don't think this is something we can make any proper speculation on, since GTA:Online heists still haven't been released - and they'll really show just how effective they are.

 

However, in a less focused sense, I'd say they're here to stay since III starts with one, there was one (I think) in SA, and one in IV, which also is generally said to be the best mission in the game. So while people are decrying the unimpressive nature from the focus on heists in V, there's definitely a place for them in future GTAs; however maybe not to the level of V.

Honestly I hope it isn't a primary focus again. It got old in GTA V IMO, but maybe it would be different if the motivation was more inline with VC, SA and GTA IV.

 

Self wealth rather than doing it out of obligation and to keep the FIB from chewing up your balls.

I think GTA Online Heists will be updated from time to time, but if we're talking about future GTAs' Story Mode I hope we'll see some kind of heists. I have yet to play to GTAV, but I'm sure I'll love it: heist missions have always been my favourite ones in previous GTAs - "The Job" in GTA: Vice City, "Breaking the Bank at Caligula's" in GTA: San Andreas, and "Three Leef Clover" in GTAIV. I also like a lot of heist movies such as Heat, Bandits and Ocean's Eleven, just to name a few.

It will probably return but will probably have 1 or maybe 2.

I don't think there would be as much preparation, GTA IV for example, you were just a hired gunman.

They've been around the series for many years now, so I would be pleased if they made a return in the next GTA game. Even if we just take part in a pre-planned heist.

 

The option to create a heist using your own target, choice of distractions, weapons would be cool. We already got to pick a method, members and the getaway vehicle. More choice and the freedom to pick everything your own way would be a real decent gameplay feature that would add replayability.

I hope they return as the more complex multiple option style like in V. It greatly improves replay value.

 

I hope that more crew members are met in-game like Taliana, Packie and Chef though. Would have liked to use Wade or Lamar. Mebbe we could choose from other npc's in the game.

I'd like them to return maybe we could set up our own or maybe work for an NPC who is looking for a hired gun to use for a heist and you could be the muscle, driver, etc.

GTA V was a story about a retired bank robber getting back in the game out of necessity. thus heist were a large part of the game. GTA is not a game about heist though so I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you. Knocking off that bank in GTA IV felt so good because it was a one time experience. GTA V gave us heist after heist after heist, all with a very linear playthrough, and all were mundane by the third time through. So, in GTA VI, if there are heists, maybe we can steal something other than money. Maybe professional art thieves?

We should pull heists and then buy businesses with interiors and their own in depth missions to launder the money through. We rob a bank and then we have enough to buy a nightclub which turns it's own profit but also comes with it's own missions and a drug dealing side mission.

I want more Heists. But all must be for personal gain and wealth, none that give you zip either

I`ve never understood this complaining of not enough money. I mean at the end of the game i have +25 mil $ and i`ve never needed more than couple of mills. I bought the airport hangar, all the aircrafts, a boat yard with few boats, a helipad with 4 choppers and all the vehicles i could store in the game, the properties (except for golf club) and yet i had 15 more mills left.

I don`t even need to play stocks unless i want to buy a golf club. What would you do with more heists outcome anyway?

It`s not the problem that you don`t get enough money from heists because you always get only a fraction from what FIB takes you away. The problem is that you have a degrading feeling of being just an FIB bitch. It doesn`t feel satisfied enough from personal reasons, not because you`d need more money.

 

On topic; i don`t get the feeling V is based on heists. At least not SP. It was showned that way when the first trailers came out but it`s far from that. In the story mode you only have 5 heists. It`s not enough considering that V was presented as a heist game.

Id like to see a return of property management as in Vice City, where each property ran it's own illicit business and had a strand of missions.

 

I don't care for getting a text from f*cking Smoke on the Water that their van got jacked because it always happens when I'm doing something and don't want to be interrupted.

 

I'd prefer a corona in the business that you can enter to start whatever "recover the van" type mission.

 

Sorry, I know that was kinda off topic. It was mostly a response to woggleman.

 

I agree one property should be like the nightclub in VC where heists (and heist strand missions) are carried out.
