Special Crates!

Happy new year everyone on GTAForums!!

 

Just wanted to know what everyone here was doing about the special crate drops during the Festive Surprise event.

Haven't any single one under the whole event.

 

I think it's a waste of time if you already have half of the beer hats etc.

Went for a few shirts I wanted for one or both characters. Especially Base 5 and the KDST shirt for my original character.

I was hunting everyday for the new item, tried to stop at one a day but when that crate message popup i can't help myself i gotta go for it.

I already had most of the content for my first character, and now that it is so easy to get the crates I went after them with my second character. I only missed the Happiness tee with my second char, but I don't care. It's not really about the content, I like the K-dst and Flash FM tees, the other ones I will probably never ever wear again. The beer hats are totally useless to me, so it's really about the fun of battling out who gets the crate, or the easy of another 5000 bucks.

It's not like anyone is going to wear the special clothes anyway, it's all CoD-SpecOps wannabes or nearly-nude Pogo-masked kids anyway.

Dont care about Money or RP, whats keep me going for them is all the hate when i snap their crate in passiv mode with my gun out killing them :-)

I collect atleast 15 crates every day with both of my charaters.

next level stuff but i do like it when i annoy the other players as i wear what is in the crate and then get the 2nd, 3rd, 4th crate and really troll them

I didn't really know what was going to be available from the drops when I first heard about them. I figured that they would just be the old t-shirts and I thought it wouldn't be worth it. On top of that, I was getting rekt every time I tried to get a crate anyway.

 

It wasn't until I got the Pisswasser Beer Hat that I realized I did want what was coming out of the crates, just to say, "Hey, I got all this sh*t. And only the vets' and peeps with skill have it." So I started going for crates as often as possible. Got better.

 

Finally we figured out the time table for new drops and I was happy.

 

The thing that made me happiest was the fact that they re-released the 'Please Stop Me' Mask. I was so annoyed when I found out I totally missed the whole LTS event and the chance for it.

 

Luckily I got it now, and I have only one drop, the, 'Happiness Is...' drop and that's about it.

Not really bothered - got a few beer hats and event weekend T-shirts in the past (and the Manhunt mask for one character), plus the original Los Santos Belle shirt, so there's no incentive to get more graphic tees/hats that are just palette-swaps of stuff I already own. Not such a completist that I have to own that Blarney's hat to go with the Patriot/Pißwasser ones I snagged previously.

 

That, and they end up going unused anyway - never really use t-shirts or hats. Might as well let everyone else go mad, fighting over whatever the crate-du-jour is - knock yerselves out kids...

crate drops have been some of the most fun ive had in a while in this game...and i wish they could/would continue...the extra RP is great but what i really love is the rare items..

 

id like them to continue with the crate drops and add some new items that rare super rare that only drop in certain crates...really rare items..so everyone tryes to get them...and some less rare fun items such as free weapons or cars for the day (24 hours countdown)..and then common items like maybe something like a free respray or free ammo restock (fully all weapons)...

 

its fun to plan out the attack..by air or land..go in stealth or blazing...having to deal with the other players going for it and the npcs makes it a rare challenge ..

 

i feel this game needs more open lobby goals....but the rewards need to be good enough to encourage players to stop what they're doing to go for it......Simeons vehicles anyone ?....

I keep going at the special crate drops. But the only special crates that I once again missed was the Statue of Happiness T Shirt and Base 5 shirt. The rest of the shirts I already had but the Dog one is something I never want to get. Just don't like that shirt.

The only beer hat I have is Benedict, but I think it looks the best.

 

I can't really be bothered to go for shirts I don't like, so I've skipped a few.

The options for voting is kind of hard for me to vote. I mainly got one a day for the most part. One day I went for multiple crates because of possibility for j-lager and blarney beer hats that were like .01% chance of dropping a certain day. Missed out on happiness is day because stupid update didn't come out in enough time on the 360. Then I also got to take a couple of days off because I already owned the items like the mask and dog food shirt as examples. Anyways. I only really did the hunting for something to do during the holiday and mainly for the beer hats that I couldn't get to save my life during the july event. Still hoping for a chance to get the blarney's hat (only one that looks awesome imho).
