F'ing lobby trolls

If the host was doing it to mess with everyone, don't give him that power. Just leave and go do something else. As a player you have a choice whether you allow yourself to be trolled or not.

 

 

 

I know that, but you know, not all of us are graced with a perfect GTA:O connection. I'm one of those who has been doomed to random, unknown network errors (even though the PS3 version worked perfectly for me), and it had already taken about half an hour just to get a stable enough connection to even JOIN a lobby without an instant "kick to Single Player", so you can imagine my frustration to not only FINALLY get into a lobby, but have it also be full of players whom are actually using their mics and talking to each other, just to have the lobby host decide to be a douche and keep refreshing the timer at the very last split second.

 

I waited a while, thought he was waiting for a friend. BS'ed with some of the other players waiting. After about minute 6, we started to urge him to start the match. After that we all started agreeing that he was just trolling, so everyone started leaving and saying they were reporting him.

 

It's just common courtesy. If you manage to get a lobby FULL of players for a 3 minute long race, don't sit there and waste everyone's time - just start the f*cking match and your friend can join the next one.

 

 

 

 

Those of you who are really imagining a scenario in which he legitimately thought keeping a full lobby waiting for almost 10 minutes for no perceived reason was acceptable, you're clueless. He was trolling, it's plainly obvious.

 

How many of you have admitted to doing such things yourselves? Or starting jobs at the furthest location away possible, then quitting after it launches? Stuff like that? A lot of you have.

 

Well I'm not putting up with your sh*t. Troll, grief, or be otherwise disrespectful of your fellow players, and I report you. If more people did that, if more people actually stood up to this kind of bullsh*t, this game community wouldn't so god damned f*cking AWFUL.

 

Hell, if more people stood up to your sh*t, these forums would be so much better as well.

I usually do leave after the first couple of cycles of timer reset, but I wanted to have patience. Playing my first 30 (well, almost 30) player match would have been worth the wait, but he clearly wasn't even planning on letting the match start. Even if he WAS going to, everyone had already started leaving, so we'd have to wait for forever AGAIN for the lobby to fill up.

Lol me and my friend used to join World at War zombie lobbies and refuse to ready up even though 3 needed to be ready to start the game...it was fun sitting in voice chat with our mics muted listening to people call us all these corny names just because we didn't ready up...

It really is easy to piss off nerds online...just go find another lobby and forget the guy...it's not that serious.

Hated when this used to happen in a custom lobby of Halo 3 and there was always one douche thinking it was funny to reset the countdown.

I must've spent weeks overall waiting when Customs were huge haha.

If someone was able to get people to hang around for 10 minutes, a couple of things:

 

1. I have ADD. I'd have been out of there after a minute or two.

Once there are at least 8-10 and the host keeps re-setting the timer, I just quit after 2 or 3 re-sets. Some people just want a full lobby, I dont and wont wait around for one. I wouldnt even think of reporting though.

To be fair it is absolutely crap when someone trolls like that. I just submit a player review (on Xbox) and select avoid that player so the risk of ending up in a lobby again is slimmer. it's his own fault then when the only people who play with him are douches.

Pretty sure I waited longer then I actually played, but man duck hunt,fat kid epicness was well worth the wait... Errgg man Halo 3 used to be so chill, people actually had fun in the lobbies rather than bitch and swing their E-Peen and show off "Skills" or at least not as much as today

 

Anyways to contribute that guy as a pretty big dick and yeah you should report him but man you left way earlier then just sit there and take it, its like an abused spouse just coming back for more.

It is irrelevant if it can be done and the Host not be reported for anything, it is people like this that just further ruin the game modes and discourage people from playing them in the future...This is the bigger picture everyone seems to miss.

 

If you play enough Jobs (all I do), this occurs frequently and you do not always want to Hop straight away as guess what, the next 5 Jobs could be (in DMs for example) 5 RP++ DMs and you have spent 5 mins + trying to Join these Jobs...

Nope. I'm not going to be bullied into putting up with that kind of bullsh*t. Idiots like you let this sh*t go on for way too long and that's why this game and the Internet as a whole are overrun with trolls and "/b/tards" and such - people have been too patient, too passive with them and now they think it's best to just bend over and spread out ass cheeks for them - let them ruin everything because it's easier than fighting it. I, for one, refuse to accept that, so even if it is fruitless, I will still use the tools provided to fight back against sh*tty player conduct. Maybe someday we can take control back from these f*ck jobs.
