Having trouble joining my friends on GTA online

So I'm having a hard time joining a friend on gta online(xbox one). For some reason his gamertag doesn't show up in the friends tab in the game, and it won't allow me to send him an game invite through the dashboard. Also when he try's to join my session, it'll tell him that my session no longer exists even though I'm in a public lobby. Both of our NAT is open and wired. Can anyone help me out with this situation please?

Alot of people are having this issue. Rather than trying to invite or join a friend from the friends tab, try going to crews in the online tab and inviting them from there. Has worked for me everytime.

Can anyone tell me if u can do crew missions and how u do them ?
