Its too bad we cant really 'Tune' our cars.

Was reading a thread about why some people hate super cars and the drivers, thinking "Its too bad Rockstar doesn't allow us to 'Tune' our cars." Of course this is just a dream and I highly doubt Rockstar would do such an overhaul.

What do I mean by 'Tune'?

-A Sabre with enough horse power could easily beat a Zentorno in a straight line. It is nothing more than a '70 Chevelle SS and muscle cars are great for straight line speed. Speaking of Muscle cars, there is even the Vapid Blade, a gasser known for drag racing.

-How about updating the little tuner cars to keep up with the Sports/Supers? The Blista would have a great weight to HP ratio. Go to YouTube. PLENTY OF SUPRAS AND CIVICS BEATING super cars.

-How about making a 'Sleeper'? Take any old Sedan off the streets and put money into it to eat those Adders alive

-And there's the Sports cars like the Banshee and Comet, which represents the Viper and Porsche. Vipers can EASILY MAKE 1200 HP, which can beat Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc. I'm sure Porsche is the same. I'd love to upgrade the underrated Banshee to beat the other supers

Now, to balance this effect out, you'll need plenty of cash and a great deal of driving skill. A lot more than that of regular tuning. A Honda Civic for example takes a lot of work to beat a Lamborghini. Not only money, but the more you power, the more skill needed to control your vehicle.

This isn't a racing game neither is it a shooting game or whatever game category - this game combines a bit of all - so it can't put too much emphasis (such as detailed tuning and setups, or even simple setups like left to right sliders only) on that category because players will expect the same treatment on everything else. At least that's what I think. I mean if I wanted my racing fix I'd play an actual racing game!

It'd be cool to open a racetrack oval somewhere with a garage you could use to tweak and alter little differences to test your times. Things like suspension stiffness, gear ratios, tire camber ect.. not necesarily up to par with Forza or nothin but enough to allow people knowledgeable enough to gain an advantage to make custom car races more skill based without just maxing everything out in LS Customs.

PC version will save us.

Sure it will...maybe for Story Mode, but there is NO WAY that mods will fly for Online

If people are modding console versions I have no doubt PC's will have no problem whatsoever. Though inevitable I feel R* should work with it rather than shame it knowing it'll happen no matter what.. Maybe create a lobby specifically for modders to mess around with, I feel it'll help cut back on modders who will work to ruin it for everyone else in public sessions.

We just need more balanced supers. It's a stupid idea to just add a super every time that knocks the top car off its throne, 'cause that'll just become the next overused car. Nerf the Zentorno to be more like the Entity and Turismo and most important of all, buff the other supers to be closer to them. I want a race with various supers, not an all Zentorno race with the odd Turismo/Entity/Adder.

When OP means tuned muscle he means this

SC0513-154224_1.jpg

69 ZL1 COPO 9737, this number 65 of 69 produced, and 1 of only 3 with the sports car conversion option. The 140 mph speedometer doesn't apply to these cars, as most of the top speed and HP was well under rated in those times.

you can't compare, you are talking about a whole car mechanics overhaul vs cheap cheats....it wont be possible anyway...GTA is not about heavy modding like Skyrim...

Some cars are too fast already. I dont want every car to drive the same speed, boring as hell.

I have do disagree, the supercars only do half their actual top speeds of their real life counterparts. My freakin' Duneloader can tailgate a lower-end Super like Bullet or Voltic.

Same for motorcycles. The Hakuchou should be doing between 180mph-200mph (300kmh) and not like, 120-130mph..

And the superbikes accelerate to 60 in 2 or 3 seconds unlike in this game which takes about three times longer..

Quite right- I love my racing simulators and wish the game would have all these options, but it's GTA and it's a whistle stop tour of alot of things without concentrating on one with and giving no attention to the others. So it won't happen by R*, but just wait for PC like 99% of the suggestions on here.

I assume the speed restrictions are due to the game rendering speed or something. Jets go painfully slow compared to their real ones.

And when you meant tune, I thought you meant like being able to adjust ride height and gear ratios...

what most people dont relize is in real life those kind of cars only reach their top speed on realy long straights

even if it was gran turismo none of the cars woud be able to get their top speed on the gta5 map

I love it. Spend less time in the basement and more time in what we call "real life".

I've done up muscle cars in real life and I work with Lamborghinis and I know for a fact there is no way a Muscle car will ever take a precision exotic. Never. If you want to make it purpose built to drive in a straight line then sure, but at that point it's not a street car anymore. It would be like driving the Hot Knife all the time and you would hate it.

If YouTube is your source of information there is a place out there called a drag strip. Yup, it really exists in real life. I want you to go find all those Supras and Civics that are smoking Sport cars. It's going to be a harsh reality check for you. If you do get to find some of those award winning Civics, ask to drive them and see about that Sport like handling.

And if you have a Sedan out there (best chance would be a Mercedes-Benz S class) that can eat an Adder I would be impressed! I have no idea what YouTube video you saw that on. I have seen an S600 beat a Ferrari F430, but that would be a Sports class car and both were stock. I wouldn't suggest having the same thing happen in this game because at that point why class it a Sedan if it's Sport speed which is how they currently do it.

With the Sport thing you're not too far off point, but just like spending money on a Porsche to make it faster, you can do the same to a Lamborghini making it even faster. So if all things are equal it still balances out.

Tuning regardless is not an option for this game and really should never be. Even just figuring out vehicle choice, wheels, spoilers, and ride height many of us have a tremendous advantage over the competition.

If you really want what you're looking for just turn catch-up on and you should be fine.

Lol, this guy too serious. Maybe you should get out the house. Why are you so angry over a simple idea that I claimed WOULD NOT happen? It was merely a pipe dream. Am i constantly making threads begging for more tunable cars? No. Im not retarded, i know this is GTA, I know there is alot of software, and i know what Rockstar will and will not do. Calm down son, it ain't even that serious.

Overly serious or not, he was spot on. Your wishlist was far-fetched, even for a pipe dream. A Civic that could pull a Lambo would be wholly undrivable, provided you could get it to hook up long enough to get some actual forward momentum going...

I see this kind of comment all the time and can't agree with it. Realism is far less important than gameplay, and gameplay in this game would suffer if some cars could go 200 MPH. It shrinks the map, leaves too many of the cars badly outclassed (as opposed to just mostly outclassed), and most people can't drive well enough to stay on the road at those speeds anyway.
